Eyes:
A rare genetic happening, Alista was born with blue eyes that offset her skin. Sharp irises with a narrow oval shape - she tends to draw attention to her eyes unknowingly. She has somewhat thin lashes despite that, making it easier to see them - and they tend to seem more curled than they actually are. She does have relatively thick eyebrows.
Hair:
Blessed with the gift of length, Alista is known to let her hair grow out as long as possible without being annoying. Thick, raven black hair - which is usually always braided - extends to just above her lower back. She most notably has a braided mohawk - both sides of her scalp are clean shaven, with only a small layer of hair being visible. Her braids are thick and start at the hairline and extend down to the base of her neck where the roots end. The braids themselves are thick and collected just at the back of her scalp where they’re twisted into a makeshift knot that lets them flow freely down her back. The twist is easily removable - a life hack she found interesting and decided to try.
Clothing:
Alista’s usual state of dress is sporty casual. Loose fitting clothing is a must, typically dark breathable ripped jeans or jogging pants and a loose cool/neutral colored shirts. While she has jackets and such she doesn’t wear them unless necessary. Seen with a pair of sneakers or low rise boots and never showing her socks unless in movement though they’re most likely plain. She occasionally wears bracelets or faux gold bands on her wrist, but other than her stud spider bites she tends to forgo jewelry. The only thing she always has is a one strap worn backpack.
Appearance:
What Alista lacks in height she overpowers with confidence and intellect. Honey brown skin and dark hair are offset by strikingly vibrant blue eyes which she uses to pin and search her current conversation partner. Some might find her gaze intimidating, but she generally means no harm by it. She’s openly expressive, if you can’t read it form her body language it’s safe to assume she’s not feeling it. With near perfect posture and semi-casual speech, she’s not exactly hard to approach.
Her face is rounded and almost always devoid of makeup - but most notably is how openly she displays her forehead. Not exactly wide or ‘large’ but she makes no effort to cover it. She tends not to gesture much while she speaks - she finds it can be distracting to talk with your hands and expect people to focus on your words. As for her body, one might consider her slightly shapely - though one thing she prides herself on however is that she’s always physically fit. A lean build with very lightly pronounced musculature that’s usually hidden by subtle curves. She has a few bite marks/scratches on her slender hands from working with newly born Pokemon. She does have a spider bite piercing on the left of her lower lip.
She tends to talk softly albeit passionately, only raising her voice in times of high stress or powerful emotion. At these times she can truly seem frightening aside form her height - her soft gaze becomes hard and deep, almost accusatory and very much intrusive. She becomes closed off, often crossing her arms and giving clipped responses to the object of her animosity. Her insults quickly become personalized and tailored to sore spots she has noticed from the person.
{Personality}If anything Alista is a very goal oriented person. She’s very calm and polite, often described as easy to approach or talk to by others. She knows what she wants and the steps she will take to get there, and isn’t willing to make changes unless absolutely required. Headstrong and maybe even a little reckless, she doesn’t always think before acting. More often than not she tends to carefully consider her options unless her emotions override her rational thought.
Despite being openly friendly with everyone, Alista doesn't form bonds with others easily. She doesn't stick to herself, no, but she keeps a subtle distance between herself and her peers. Being bullied is never fun, and from it she's acquired a strong sense of trust is earned, not given. That said getting her trust isn't super difficult, just prove yourself sensible and mature and you're halfway there. She doesn't talk a lot about herself, often giving general bits and pieces and straying away from personal information.
Having had past issues self-confidence and her self-esteem, Alista can slip into episodes of apathy and questioning herself. These episodes are often internal and rarely will she ask for help because she doesn't want to burden others. She always tries to be the best she can, often pushing herself past her own limits in an attempt to show her mother she can handle herself. She's not exactly a people-pleaser, it's mainly reserved for her mother. Alista has a hard time lying to anyone, though she can she chooses not to for transparency and trust.
She’s always kind unless given reason not to be, and is generally open with expectations and matters of trust. She expects a certain level of maturity from everyone - if you have a problem with her she expects you to bring it up and vice versa, anything she expects from herself is something she believes others can extend to her. She’s casual and laid back with everyone despite that - but she does have temper flares and they can be explosive.
Though not one for confrontation if she can avoid it, Alista is not afraid to show her distaste or anger physically if the situation calls for it. One could argue that she’s the no-nonsense type, but that's only partly true. Wise and witty, if she has the intellectual advantage and you piss her off she isn’t one to be modest about it. All in all, she's an easy going and charismatic person as long as you are.

{History}Growing up in Calta meant being more or less technology impaired. Due to Caltans having very little access to technology, as a child one found entertainment in forms of one's family, friends, and experiences. Alista was no different save for her interest in learning and rocky start. Orphaned very young, she never knew her biological parents. Still, she was curious by nature and as such she was always asking questions. Always one step up, Tonan Geals low funding and budget made it hard to further her education. When she turned six she was moved to a permanent home with a former godain scientist who had heard of Catla sometime after the freight crash - she had gone to explore but decided to live there.
Alista was afforded the best her mother could offer in terms of teaching - and her pursuit of knowledge was always well fed and nurtured. The scientist, Wisteria was very much looking for a little assistant, and the nickname was quickly given to her adoptive daughter. Once Alista had begun homeschooling, she began to grow exponentially. In some ways she was a prodigy - the extent of her knowledge well beyond her years thanks to Wisteria. Eventually her childhood saw her bullied because of constant recognition from adults around her.
As a result Alista started taking self defense from a local watchman to build her confidence. She never used it, but knowing that she could empowered her and gave her resolve behind her insults and threats. Thanks to the confidence she gained from the small lessons she eventually got into physical fitness.
Alista took it in stride though, striving to be perfect for her mother’s sake. She grew in her mother's shadow, never quite ready to see Wisteria’s reaction to her own goal at the start - all she sought was her mother's approval. Eventually she began to lose interest in what her mother wanted for her - but she continued to do her best in hopes to make the former Godian professor proud. Alista took to secretly exploring the area around Tonan Geal - sometimes discovering new flora and other times having just a calming time to herself without studying for things that held no interest for her. She was around ten when she began to peel away from her mother's shadow - she began to question her own worth and if she was just an outlet for her mother. One day while exploring Alista found an egg which hatched in front of her shortly after.
The baby Pokemon that hatched quickly imprinted on her and began to follow her around. She spent the remainder of the day trying to get it to stay in the area - but it only made the small Pokemon more adamant on following her. She gave up relatively quickly and brought it home, her mother giving her permission to keep the newly hatched Zigzagoon but only after she agreed to study variants. Around that time Alista began to learn about battles from her mother. She began to ask travelers about their battle studies under Wisteria’s nose.
Because of her behavioral studies she also took an interest in fitness, oftentimes roughhousing with her partner Cerberus and taking him along with her lessons from the watchman. By fifteen she was shapely and very much determined to stay that way. She was finally beginning to see herself as an entity separate from her mother, and just when she was about to finish her studies her mother landed her an internship with a godain research facility. Naturally Wisteria was excited and Alista was grateful for the chance even though she had no intention of taking it. Her mind changed when she saw how happy her mother was. Now seventeen, she weighed her options and found that she could become a researcher for profit and make a side business of her battling. So she took the internship and kept her trainer dream repressed to make her mother happy.
Now a behavioral scientist intern, she looks forward to seeing new Pokemon and their habitats while expanding her own horizons. Arriving in Godai shortly after her nineteenth birthday Alista was quick to attempt the TIS exam so she could do both the things she wanted. After the first attempt was met with failure she once again took up battle studies, but in Godai. Her second test got her a starting kit: a pokedex and a few pokeballs to add to the one she had been given by her mother to capture Cerberus.
As a registered TIS trainer, she was quick to learn more about godain technologies other than what was required. Godai as a whole amazed her, but their tech was even more bewitching. On her twenty-second birthday she landed a field assistant job under a separate professor to which she accepted and began to work immediately. Back in Calta she works with her mother in the hopes of bridging the gap between Godai and Calta.
