The Summer Solstice settles in~! Clear skies. Ice cream in hand, and under the shade of a large tree… What more could one need in the heat? How about… gifts! Yes, Godai staff is proud to present the Summer Solstice event, our very own Delimas in July! This will be a new yearly event. Here's how it works~ Firstly, make sure you keep this a secret, don't let anyone know what you're giving or to whom you're giving it~ This year we will be allowing members to once again choose their target! You can choose to send a gift from your own inventory, buy something in the pokemart, or buy one from the catalog below. Please use this template to send a gift and PM it to the user Godai , the staff will keep track of who's sent what there. [b]Name of giving character:[/b]

[b]Amount Paid:[/b] *dian*Once the mod's go through their inbox, they'll wrap up all the presents with wonderful ribbon and place it underneath our beautifully decorated tree. And you can do this as many times as you'd like, provided you have enough money.However, in order to receive any gifts, you must write a letter for the Solstice. This letter will be on a talisman that will be hung on a a tree for good luck! If you're having trouble doing your shopping, you may also request the mod to give you a name at random from someone who has already sent out presents. You cannot send presents from one of your characters to your other. You'd think we wouldn't have to specify that in the spirit of giving and selflessness, but we do. This year, if you're a New-ish Member (active since September 1, 2018) and an Older Member, your character(s) may have a choice between having their Dians Multiplied by 2.5x or adding  4,000 to their current total. There are (2) small catches though. Of course:
- 1) Only if you're an Older Member (active prior to September 1, 2018) you must have at least (1) Evaluated Topic under your belt. New active Members do not need to have any Evaluated Topics to get that Dian increase.
- 2) You have to reply to this thread, writing on a talisman from the point of view of your character, in celebration of the solstice. This can be funny or not, but it also serves as a good tool to let others know what you may want waiting for that character.
Once you do, make a modification and use the letter post in this thread as the source for adding on the amount of Dians you chose. Yes, some folk will be getting a couple thousand dians, some of you will be getting 10s of thousands of dians. But who knows, this may remove any frugality-causing fear that people may have, and amount to a more bountiful event~ |
Aside from the Dian Increase Modification, Do not submit any other modifications until after the presents are opened. We'll do that on August the 2nd. A talisman hangs from the lower branches, the writing on it written in a tiny, cramped hand.
Josh: "Well wishes? I suppose something to help my Pokemon grow. I fear things are coming and they will need all of their strength. Perhaps something to help them battle better?" (Vitamins, battle held items (like shell bell) or anything interesting.)

Titus finished writing his talisman before putting it on the decorated solstice tree. The writing looked smooth and professional for a little kid, but he walked away pursing his lip. He wasn't too proud of his wish.

In neat handwriting, sloping upwards, is a note in black ink that fades in and out. Dear summer,
I don't know what to write.
I have a lot of wishes, but it's hard to keep track of all of them and know what they all are.
I want to thank Angel for being here with me through all these losses without running away in the nighttime. Don't tell her, but I wouldn't blame her if she did. I would love for anything nice to happen to her. I know she wants to learn more things and be the strongest she can be, and I want to do what I can to help.
A big team of friendly pokemon would be nice, but I don't know how to capture things, really. I'd love some help with that, universe, if you can provide it.
I haven't had a super greasy cheeseburger and fries in so long. Please provide.
Thank you, tree. Whoever I am writing to. My hand kinda hurts, but this was fun.

The note seems to be written on an index card with a string taped on... suspicious orange stains line its corners.
I've done these before in Tiensee, but it's different now that I have pokemon. I guess I'd ask for Vitamins of your choice, to help my pokemon grow, or maybe First Aid Packages in case I get stuck in the wild for a bit. Capture Packages are also appreciated, for the apricorns they provide. I'm starting to collect TMs as well, but I'm not sure which ones I need... maybe a TM of your choice would be better? I trust your judgement.
P.S. Sorry for the Cheez-O stains- Pasha was eating them earlier and now the dust got everywhere...
P.P.S. This is a bit optional, but I've always wanted to grow my own berries- if anyone has a Berry Pot to spare I'd be grateful!

Luke tapped the pen on the table, trying to decide on what to write. The solstice had been a fun tradition he had partaken in in the past, but he had always had an overarching plan to draw inspiration from. Now... now he just wanted to find out what was for him.
In messy but legible handwriting, he began.
He finished it with a rushed signature and grabbed some twine. He walked over to the tree in the center of the plaza, one already heavy with talismans of all shapes and sizes. He found a spot tucked away and tied it up. A quick final look and a rub with his thumb was all he did before walking away, looking for his next stop.

One tag hangs from the middle of of a cluster of others on a tree and would not stand out at all were it not for the faint smell of cigarettes and incense clinging to it. The handwriting is barely ledgible due to bad penmanship being paired with writing on an uneven surface like the sidewalk or a brick wall.
On another tree one of the less populated ones, hangs an unassuming tag that only stands out because the tag is written in another language. The characters seem to be written in an uncertain hand as if someone was trying to remember how to write them.

It seemed to catch on, this little trend. Talisman next to talisman, adorned the various trees as each was made unique by the person who signed it. Names like Josh, Angela and next to it also Yuri.

Clayton walked up to the tree begrudgingly. Part of him thought this whole festival was a waste of his time and just lazy superstition; however, the superstitious part of him said it was better to be safe than sorry. Especially since he was about to start a new chapter of his life. As he hung the talisman to the tree, he carefully read over the note he left on it: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Dear reader,
I'm not really doing this because I want anything in particular. I'm actually quite lucky to have what I do so it feels wrong asking for more. That being said, I could use a bit more dians to help finance my trip. Other than that, just anything that might be interesting or useful or cool. Or even something random, I don't know. Anyway, nobody is probably going to read this but if I don't do it and get shitty luck I'll always blame myself for not partaking in this... ritual.

Its not for a few months..regardless she figured it'd be best to write down her wishes, Whoever is reading this please note I would like my Dians Multiplied by 2.5x and some cookies for my pokemon, after all they deserve something for all the hard work they've put in especially Sandshrew. Also a bike..would make things so much easier." If anyone even bothered to look they would notice that the tailsman had so many crease lines, all of them fluffy to the outside from so many times being folded and unfolded. Likewise, the paper is soft to the touch, the blue ink has run but only slightly.
Ritsuko would then place the tailsman back onto the tree with her signature as she headed off into the distance.

On the left side, you can see a note that is written a bit cleanly along with a Froakie's handprint.

On the other side, you can see a medium note with a doodle of a Ralts holding a sword.
