{Appearance}Hair Color & Style: Obsidian black in color. Yuri is a man who finds style in simplicity and practicality when it comes to his haircut. Having tried various styles over the course of his life he feels most comfortable with his hair cut short. Regularly visiting a barber Yuri feels it allows for a sleek look, one that doesn't bother him in training and requires minimal maintenance. An ideal solution as far as he's concerned.
Eyes: Big hazel colored eyes, along with relatively long lashes as well as thin eyebrows give Yuri a striking, almost piercing, look that reveals his emotions quite well, be they positive or negative. He kind of likes the fact that he's not that difficult to read, rather that his facial expressions are not. Though he has been told that he sometimes comes of as intimidating and overly serious because of his sharp features. Secretly he loves the fact that he can be intimidating when he wants to, or rather that some people find his frown intimidating. He never really told anyone about that, it's simply a reaction that he notices and that amuses him to a certain extent.
Clothing/Accessories:
Spring/Summer - During the summer, and late spring, Yuri sports lighter clothes. Growing to enjoy dressing in somewhat fashionable clothes the man can often be seen trying out looks that he finds interesting, be they business suits, track suits or speedos. He does tend to have, or rather he likes having, a wide variety of clothes at his disposal and dressing however he feels.
Most of the time however the formula is simple. Nice sneakers, jeans and a T-shirt are a must. Sometimes another button up shirt goes over it. He'll regularly roll up his sleeves as its somewhat of a habit. And finally some shades, when it's really sunny, and a watch as well.

Fall/Winter - When it gets cold however he has no trouble dressing appropriately, but if possible likes to maintain some level of style. First and foremost, he is a good man. Second, it's rarely boring in his life. He doesn't know what it is about him, but wherever he goes something happens. Either he meets someone interesting or something worth noting happens. It doesn't matter if he's in a small town or not, with friends or alone. Yuri Sharp is an interesting friend to most, and a headache to some. His life is not an action-movie though, but rather a roller-coaster of events and emotions, highs and lows which test, break and forge him constantly, show him new things and remind him of old ones. He has a positive outlook on life and on people in general so he rarely stresses the doom and gloom, instead preferring to relax and just enjoy life as he goes. He likes to challenge himself, physically for sure, but maybe even more so mentally. He likes to stimulate the brain and despises monotony in life, so you could say that he's a bit restless at times.
He's a person with an unusually quick mind. While he may not instantly strike as someone who has a lot going on inside his head, he shows the subtlety of his mind to those that look at him closer, more often than not. The sparks fire quickly in his head and he is a natural at reacting to sudden changes around him, he rarely panics when most others would, and is remarkably brave when facing any situation. The ability to, almost, discard fear is something he is quite proud of. He is very creative, especially in high-pressure situations, regardless whether the challenge in front of him is verbal, mental or physical in nature. But even so he's not ignorant about it, but rather honest about how he wants to handle certain situations. He's not above sometime bowing his head and retreating should he feel that that is the best move to make.
Often the drawback of a quick mind is an equally quick tongue, and Yuri is no exception. He used to be very stingy with his words but once he figured out that he is "slick" when it comes to the art of waxing poetically about anything, he stopped limiting himself so much. As a result he now has to put extra effort in to slowing himself down sometimes, just so he actually thinks twice about what he is about to say. It's a work in progress, but at least he's an honest soul so he has no trouble sharing his true thoughts with others. But yes, he can sometimes talk a bit longer...
On that note he is equally 'out of balance' when it comes to matters of the heart. He's a person who has a lot of love in him. He's very 'huggable' and affectionate, in that he loves spreading love. He's just a positive person to be around of. But at the same time he needs to receive love as well. So it is no surprise that he seeks people who will fill those roles. He is both quite logical as a person, as well as emphatic, so it comes as no great surprise that he can be quite mature and understanding when the situation calls for it. He relates to most situations and people well, even on instinct, so he often understands certain situation better than one might expect.
Looking overall he likes to have a lot of freedom in life, not that he has a problem with authority, he simply prefers to be his own boss and go about things his own way. Though on that same note he has no problems whatsoever with admitting that someone is better at something that him, be that cooking or plane flying. Nor does he have any problems with asking for help on matters that he alone can't overcome, unless it's from people he finds arrogant or douche-y. He bonds with people, and pokemon alike, quickly and likes to be in the company of interesting and positive people. He enjoys working out, having a good time, the occasional drink and money.
He speaks Teletsian, Shtearan and Grath fluently. Grath, the language spoken in Godai, is the one he learned at home so he does have a bit of an accent compared to the natives of Godai.
As a trainer Yuri likes a lot of pokemon, but he has a particular way of looking at certain aspects of pokemon training. He can catch pretty much any pokemon, but when it comes to training pokemon long-term he seeks out pokemon that like to fight and compete, and that have the potential to be good at it. It is an outlook quite similar to humans and combat sports as people who aren't interested in, for instance, boxing shouldn't dabble in it. So he will not force a pokemon to fight if he feels the pokemon isn't willing or suited for it. After all, pokemon have feelings too and are not tools. He is quite devoted to developing and building up his team as he invests a lot of time and effort in to training, so that everyone involved receives as much out of the situation as possible. He is particularly fond of Flying and Dragon type pokemon, if he were to point out his favorites.
He is very ambitious as a person, and when something interests him he will invest a scary amount of effort in to it. But on that same note if something does not spark his interest, he'll take forever to complete even the simplest of tasks, simply out of lack of motivation. Though he has an iron will, he is not immune to bouts of laziness and stubbornness...

{History}Yuri Sharp was born and raised in Sumlote, the Capital of Shtear, to farther Boris, Godian nationality, and mother Elena, who is Teletsian (Date of Birth: Jan 4th, 175).
His father was originally from Godai, but moved to Sumlote because of work, which is where he met Elena. After the pair decided to tie the knot he moved to Sumlote full-time, where the two had Yuri and lived for many years after.
It was a time of peace and relative prosperity in the continent of Shtear, with the tensions between the various races subsiding but never quite vanishing. There were subtle tensions from time to time, which was a concern for the Sharp family, one that luckily turned out to be a needless one on their part.
Growing up in such a wild and culturally multi layered city the young boy was exposed to a lot of different things from a young age. He started learning several languages as a child. The first he learned was Teletsian, from his mother, which was the dominant language in the district he grew up in. Alongside that he learned Shtearan as almost all children do, which is essential in Shtear. Finally around the age of seven his father also taught him, per Yuri's request no less, Grath...
Over the years he would improve his linguistic skills by watching TV, this was most prevalent for Grath as it there simply weren't a lot of people who spoke it in that part of the world and who also had the time to teach him, and through various other means. There isn't much else to point out in his early years. Aside from a genuine love for motorcycles and dog pokemon like Arcanine, which the Sharp family had as a pet. It could very well be said that the Arcanine they had during that time was the reason Yuri grew to love pokemon, and learned to take care of them. It was a loyal and loving pet whom the boy loved immensely.
Another interest/hobby he picked up around that time was his love and fascination with cars and motorcycles. Not in a mechanical sense, but more in a driving or riding sense. He knew various manufacturers, models, their power and what not, but didn't really learn much about the mechanical part of it all. Rather he was fascinated by the art of making the vehicle go really fast, something he would observe and often ask his father about as he was a very proficient driver... Thee art of controlling the vehicle at high speeds, overtaking and mastering corners fascinated him. But as he was too young to indulge that particular interest he was limited to observing.
With more than decent grades in school, he would find a passion for athletics and sports during his early teens. First discovering basketball around the age of 12, he invested quite a bit of his free time in it. His creative nature was perhaps his biggest asset. He was never the MVP or the top scorer, he simply passed the ball and created plays for his team. He may not have scored much, but what he did have was a very good understanding of how the game was played, much more so than any other player at that age. But losing games because other weren't willing to push themselves as hard as he was revealed to him the nature and character of certain players, which was when he started to lose interest in the game. He kept on playing because of the clear physical benefits he saw from the training but in his mind he was already seeking a different outlet.
Around his fifteenth birthday he discovered martial arts, well Judo to be precise, and soon thereafter he forgot all about basketball and devoted himself to training and improving in that discipline. But months after that he learned of the existence of kickboxing... And from there on out that was what he thought about, day and night. When he wasn't watching races he thought about martial arts, when he was out with friends it would pop in to his mind, it was simply an obsession, a way for him to channel his energy and above all else grow. Grow by learning about himself and the human character, by getting to see how his efforts would pay of and how he would improve, how to defeat someone and break them in training. Soon he realized that if he applied that same mentality and effort in to his daily life he could expect similar results...
Finishing Elementary and Secondary school at ages 14 and 18, respectively, Yuri was growing in to a fine young man. With excellent grades he was faced with choosing which University he wanted to go to. As fate would have it his father was already traveling back and forth to Godai for a project at work, but for the most part lived in Godai for about half a year until that point. Seeing at the project in question was planed to take at least two more years he saw an opportunity to travel outside of Shtear and see a bit more of the world, and be on his own. And even though his mother wasn't thrilled with the idea she eventually gave in and saw her only child move out for four years, to go live Cadence, Central Godai.
He enrolled in GSUC three months after Secondary school. He wouldn't live with his father however, but rather in the student dorm, though he'd visit his old man who stayed with his brother in Union, Godai. As it turned out Yuri saw more of his Uncle than his father during his first two years in college, which was fine really. He was content with how things were, after all he had plenty of stuff occupying him at the time. Girls, training, classes, cars, bikes and even pokemon to a certain degree... but in no other way than a hobby. He had ambitions of finding an outlet as a professional athlete and fighter but as time moved along he was faced with the harsh reality that there were no avenues for someone with his skills. At least not any where he would be able to earn insane amounts of money, a factor whose importance couldn't be overstated given than professional athletes rarely competed past the age of 40. Those things didn't deter him from pursuing, and improving, his craft or his studies as the man also made his presence felt inside the classroom, and not just outside.
But the student days of Yuri Sharp didn't last forever, actually they lasted just four short years, as he graduated at age 22 and after receiving his degree, in "Business Management", he moved back to Shtear to live with his parents and seek work. Traditional work, naturally, nothing related to martial arts. Over the next two and a half years he worked in various fields, never truly thinking that he'd take up pokemon training as a profession. He worked as a teller, security guard, translator and other jobs but ultimately didn't last long because of the unstable business climate in Sumlote. That went on for about two and a half years before a job opportunity in Godai presented itself.
Deciding to once again move to and live in Godai, this time in Union with his Uncle, Yuri thought that this was where he would settle in, find a wife and grow old. He thought he would become a company man. So he traveled back to Godai and worked there for a year. He lived with his Uncle, though to be fair they rarely saw each other, given that both worked long hours and had friends as well. But ultimately the job situation didn't work out and the aspiring young man was let go along with a number of other employees. And with that was left with a rather difficult decision to make. Find something else in Godai or go back to Shtear, again.
In a surprise turn of events he, while working out in a local boxing gym, heard that you could make good money as a pokemon trainer so he filled for a Trainer ID the next day, and then immediately after receiving his Charmander applied to work for the TIS. Having attended a semester's worth of classes on Pokemon Training during Secondary school, and another during College he skipped a lot of the bureaucracy. Another thing that turned out to be a positive was the fact that he befriended two other pokemon over the past couple of months, a Pidgey and a Chinchou, so they sort of joined his team as soon as he got some pokeballs.
So once again he found himself in a rather interesting position in life... A guy with a GSUC diploma, speaks multiple languages, is intelligent but also rides motorcycles, trains martial arts, enjoys writing and is now a professional pokemon trainer...

Another thing that turned out to be a positive was the fact that he befriended two other pokemon over the past couple of months, a Pidgey and a Chinchou, so they sort of joined his team as soon as he got some pokeballs.
So once again he found himself in a rather interesting position in life... A guy with a GSUC diploma, speaks multiple languages, is intelligent but also rides motorcycles, trains martial arts, enjoys writing and is now a professional pokemon trainer...

Due to that mindset, she is impatient and stubborn, and tends to rush into things without thinking - believing that time is everything and every second wasted is a piece of her soul floating away. In the end, Charmeleon knows when to take a rest, but even then that decision is flaky, opting for her to go over her limits and causing much more harm than good. Being the voice of reason Staravia keeps everyone in line when she feels like they are going too crazy, for example when Yuri is sleeping. Having seen the most out of all of the pokemon, she will often let the younger ones explore new places while she hangs back and observes. That isn't to say that she can't be really intense and intimidating when push comes to shove. She's also keen on seeing more of the world herself, but in a more refined way. A real delight to train in Yuri's opinion.  HorseaReceived at Level 10 {Personality}Abandoned due to supposedly his “incompetence”, this Horsea has been alone for quite some while. Depression has kicked in after a year or so of being promised of his trainer coming back, but alas that was clearly not the case. Prior to all this, the Horsea is probably the nicest pokemon you could meet in person. He has a heart of gold always willing to lend a helping hand - err well, a fin. For anyone who wants to cross the lake or take a shortcut, he’s your guy!
