Duke NPC Profile (Click for Full Image) Hometown: Union, Central Godai Character Name: Eldin Sewell Nickname: Eli Gender: Male Age: 37 Trainer Class: Duke of Caltan Height: 5’ 10” Weight: 167 lbs Hair Color & Style: Eldin has honey-brown, medium length hair towards the top of his head and a short cut towards the back of his neck. Due to a mix of wavy and curly hair, his locks are often situated in the middle of his head, separated by a line down his scalp. He has fairly long bangs, but due to its curliness it never gets in the way of his face. Due to his position, he tries his best to gel his hair so that half is situated at the side of his head, and the other side flowing down his forehead. He believes this style to still uphold the free spirit he wants to represent to Caltians, but also has a sense of professionalism. Eyes: Sharp and unwavering, Eldin’s look holds a good amount of confidence. His large, round eyes sit right above his cheekbones, giving him a slightly younger look than his real age suggests. His eyebrows are thick and quite close to his eyes, giving off a more mature appeal. His iris a soft teal that reflects the sun well, turning it almost hazel in the right light. Floating around towards his pupils are white pigmented flakes that allow his orbs to shine even brighter in the daylight, however may seem fairly dark at night. Clothing/Accessories: Eldin absolutely enjoys dressing for both comfort and both business depending on the situation. However, what he thoroughly enjoys the most is dressing in accordance to different cultures. The Duke is not completely in love with all his outfits as they often change on the daily, but as long as it doesn’t offend others and allows him to mingle more comfortably, he’d take that type of outfit over what he wants any day! However, if he had to choose, he would love to opt for the most practical of attire, especially when he goes hiking in Calta. He loves to don long cargo pants that cover his legs from bug bites and holds a lot of pockets for anything he finds along the way. Otherwise, a nice warm jacket with a collar he can pop up is what he would pair with his choice of pants and a nice undershirt to help keep his skin from chaffing. Eldin is never seen without his trusty pen, watch, and binoculars. To him, those are the most important accessories and with his skin sometimes, there are a bunch of notes written across his arms and hands just in case he forgets anything the locals tell him. General Appearance: When it comes to his appearance, Eldin is not a person that purposefully enjoys standing out. All he wants is just the same respect he would give others, and thus he feels standing in a relaxed posture with a nice smile on his face is the way to go. He loathes it when anyone feels intimidated by him as that is never his intention. In a room, the man would rather be mingling with everyone rather than large groups. If need be, Eldin may call attention to himself, but would prefer not to in order to simply enjoy the current situation. Luckily, his height and body shape works with him as most of the time, he is average at best and may even be overlooked by others. Personality: {Behold!}
Eldin is a man of integrity, confidence, and intelligence; after all he is the Duke of Caltan. Known to the public eyes as someone who is reliable, at least as reliable as a Godian can be, Eldin is in a position under constant stress to keep up appearances, promises, and a stable relationship between Godai and Caltan. This type of stress to the man is merely an occupational hazard and is something he has long come to accept. Since his appointment as Duke by the Nijuu to administer the large island, he has brought political prosperity, allowing trades and merchants to come and go between both areas. He serves as the ultimate voice of authority for Godai within Calta. To Eldin, this is a job he takes seriously and serves it with unyielding passion.
Like any politician, Eldin is an innate leader. His compassion and empathy have spread wide throughout Calta, earning respects from all ages, including the stubborn old Caltans who have long been locked in their ways. He appeals to their traditions and has delved deep into Caltan’s history and culture, finding examples to allow both civilizations to relate to one another. What the Duke wants most is continued unity between Godai and Caltan. For this, he understands that as a strong voice, he must uphold his promises and be incredibly careful with his words. For many arguments and discussions, whether it’s in a meeting room with the elders or simply talking to the locals, Eldin is constantly looking for ways to negotiate terms or compromise differentiating ideas. His greatest understanding comes from his own experience and longing to understand such contrasting cultures. The man’s desire is not to change the Caltan’s nor Godai’s mind, but for them to understand one another and respect each other’s decisions. Because of this, Eldin is aware that not everyone has the same feelings and takes critiques with a grain of salt. Naturally, in order to uphold his values for the good of the people, the Duke has learned not to be a people pleaser. Over the years, the Duke has had no choice but to grow thick skin to not succumb to piercing words.
Unfortunately, for all the hardened and kind persona the Duke puts out to the public, behind closed doors, it must be reminded that he is simply human, no matter where he was born. On particularly nasty days, where the critique is especially strong or where Eldin has a difficult time understanding the feelings of a local, the man finds that these words indeed penetrate through his supposed thick skin. Alas, Eldin is still a politician through and through, and while he is stricken by momentary sadness, the man does everything he can push the feelings further into the pits of his stomach. He begrudgingly knows that the world is not a perfect place, and with any type of idea, it is there to be fought. Because of this, Eldin believes in the idea that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and this includes himself. He can sometimes disassociate his own feelings and those in the minority in order to cater to a larger group of people. In his opinion, it is the best way to diffuse unnecessary tension, even if it is a questionable choice. Eldin knows he is the only one who can make this decision.
Because of the weight on his shoulders, and the lying tongues of most politicians he’s come across, the Duke often has a difficult time trusting others, sometimes even Pokemon themselves. There are tools in his own eyes even if they have their own feelings. He can not deny that their powerful tendencies are the main reason why wars and conflict are caused and it’s because of this that he is much more wary on Pokemon in general. Sadly, this lack of trust also branches off to human beings as well. While he can keep on a civil conversation, Eldin finds it horribly trying to trust others, even if they are supposed to be on his side. He tends to question and find possible ulterior motives from others, even if the intention is innocent. Eldin feels only his own Pokemon and himself are the ones he can fully trust and maybe some childhood friends as long as he can overlook their every action and moves.
Despite his trust issues, the Duke upholds his integrity as his top priority, and it doesn’t matter if it’s a simple janitor or the Queen of Godai; everyone should be treated as they wish to be treated. Eldin refuses to budge from his own moral compass and tries his best to point it North. Alas, even he acknowledges that an unwavering moral conscious is a detrimental in the long run, and thus has given himself a loop hole: not every part of information needs to be shared. To him, truth is relative, which means that not all needs to be said, and unless a question has been asked specifically, Eldin will answer as such. There are times where the man feels uneasy about his loophole, but in the end, it doesn’t matter as long as the outcome comes out as planned.
Otherwise, during the man’s downtime, Eldin is an absolute traveler at heart, else he wouldn’t have willingly gone to Calta without hesitation. Seeing how Calta is known for their nearly untouched forests, ruins, and all things green, the Duke has an absolute love for them. He loves the misty fog in the morning and the crisp waterfalls falling from the highest peaks of the canyons. He loves learning all about the new Pokemon and organic gadgets he would never have been introduced to in Godai. It’s such a refreshing way for the man to live and to him, this is where actual peace lies - nothing about this he wants to change. Eldin truly feels he can be himself, speak every little detail he wants to with his mind and forgive his own mistakes throughout the week. When there’s chaos going back with politics, the man knows he can leave his office once the ordeal is over and regain his sanity in the nature and beauty Calta provides.
History:{Prior to being Duke}
Eldin Sewell was born to a five-unit family comprised of his mother, father, and two younger sisters. His parents immigrated from outside of Godai, and to this day none of the children know of their own origins, however it mattered little to them as they were proud to be Godian. Influenced from the stories of hardships – prior to immigrating - his father and mother would tell the boy before bed, Eldin yearned to alleviate their troubles. Once he reached the age of understanding consequences and behavior, he immediately took it upon himself to be an outstanding role model for his sisters, Janice and Mila. At first, he was met with a bit of friction with his parents, as they wanted him to focus more on his studies than the overall family. But when the young man showed proof of his accomplishment and the ability to do both, they relented, albeit begrudgingly.
Throughout his childhood years, Eldin was able to form a close relationship with his mother and sisters, more than his father. His mother was a stay-at-home wife, while his father was the breadwinner, which lowered the amount of quality time the males could spend together. Nevertheless, Eldin was far from a problem child and respected his parents wholly. He did as he was told and assisted all he could to round up the chores and supervise his siblings as they grew older. How he acted at home bled into his behavior throughout primary school. He took on the roles of leadership in every speech and group activity his classes had to offer, skyrocketing his popularity in his peer groups. Eldin soared in his social skills, fully cementing his personality as a social butterfly and extrovert. Due to his constant busy-ness, the young boy was never able to form a tightly knit relationship with his sisters. Eventually, the siblings went on their own separate ways. Both Janice and Mila were closer to each other than anyone else, and because Eldin assumed a more parenting role with his sisters, it was difficult for them to see Eldin as their older brother – not that Edin minded.
As years progressed and Eldin transitioned into secondary school, the teenager never ceased in his activities. In fact, he sped even further utilizing his age and knowledge to build campaigns outside and within the school, going as far as to apply for study body positions in school. His campaigns ranged from environmental issues to voting awareness. He attempted to appeal to all students, learning what to say and how to approach different types of people. Though he failed more than he was successful, often resulting in being isolated by certain cliques, Eldin strove to learn and repent for what he did wrong. His extracurriculars took him away from his family, and although he still did what he could to help support his parents and sisters, Eldin found himself prioritizing everything else instead. It led to slightly strained relationship with his parents, but after a much-needed family discussion, they chose to be supportive of their son’s goals – whatever it was.
Once matriculating into the prestigious Godian State University (GSUC), Eldin found himself going through very trying times. He learned the most about himself in the four years than his entire upbringing. The man decided to double major in Political Science and International Studies. His goal was to be part of Godai’s political system in order to better the living situations of those within the city and further building on his international knowledge outside of Godai. His parents’ stories from his childhood days were the driving force for the man to push through his obstacles, altering his personality and ego in every single way possible. The man experienced many ups and downs, intimately understanding the differences in perspectives from each individual persons. He faced many types of individuals challenging his positions and views to the point where the man broke down after being questioned about his own identity. Here, the adult had to learn whether or not to stay down, or rise back up again. Naturally, Eldin chose the latter.
After graduating GSUC and landing himself a job within Godai’s government, Eldin further strengthened his skillsets and strengths. For the next half a decade, the man traveled throughout the continents, shadowing various ambassadors and doing his best to solidify his competency as an international service assistant, and eventually an ambassador himself. During his travels, the man’s understanding of empathy was tested, forcing him to once again go through the emotional rollercoaster of life. It allowed him to re-evaluate his understanding of the upper class and poverty, further igniting the fires of his desire to help those without a voice. Still, the man felt he should be doing something more, and it wasn’t until he given an important project that Eldin finally felt that all his struggles were worth it.
{Experience as Duke}
Eldin’s assignment was something the man considered a chance of a life time. Having painstakingly climbed up the ranks in the international relations department, it appeared that he was the best one chosen for the job from the Queen herself: become the Duke of Calta. According to his understanding, Calta was a rather new province that Godai had eyes on. There were many disagreements that were happening, leading to tensions that were in dire need of alleviation. Eldin’s job as a Duke was there to help ease those tensions and bring a sense of understanding between the stark contrast of the two countries. Calta was known as a land of barely any technology, while Godai was full of technology and a huge melting pot of socialization. The rules were that Eldin had to leave home for an undetermined amount of time and stay in Calta without much of a chance of returning to Godai. Initially, it was a difficult decision for the man, but seeing how far he had come, Eldin refused to stop now. From what he understood, there was a plethora of things he could do – maybe even succeed in ways no one thought possible – to bring the Caltians and Godians together. But, if he didn’t try, then he would never know.
Since he was already barely keeping in contact with his parents, occasionally replacing his relationship with cash flow monthly, it was not difficult for Eldin to up and leave Union. Once he arrived on Calta, Eldin immediately became enamored with nature. Of course, it was a completely different sight to behold – Eldin knew this, but no way did he understand it to such a level. There was no pollution, no skyscrapers, and no honking and stress that sapped his strength on a daily basis. The man could easily hear the birds chirp and the Pokemon running amok, carefree – something he too wanted, but never had the time for. This brought the man to reflect on his own life. While it did nothing to quell the ranging fire of being a Duke, it sparked new life, curiosity, and excitement into him. When his job was done for the day, Eldin took up every offer to wander the forests and plains of Calta with the locals.
Calta further motivated the man to delve headfirst into their culture, learning everything he possibly could and bringing it back to Godai meetings. He became close to as many locals as he could. Naturally, he was met with a lot of resistance from the Caltians, but Eldin was determined to show himself as a helper, not a burden. He explained as best he could in the ways the Caltians would understand, eventually forming rapports with first the children, and then the elders. However, the Caltians were not the only people to give the Duke a hard time, but also the Godian officials. For whatever reason they wanted to push things that weren’t native to Calta and Eldin found himself in constant negotiating and boundary-making. Alas, as per his job, the Duke needed to find ways to appease both sides. He was successful, and continues to be successful to this day, allocating jobs and making sure to soothe out any further tension that may arise between the two countries.
Pokemon Preference: Due to being the Duke, I would suggest a full six Pokemon team with practical Pokemon. His “starter” Pokemon should be a Steel or Electric type to represent his Godian roots, while his second Pokemon – at a near level, if not higher – should be either a Grass or Bug type to represent Calta. The remaining four Pokemon are practical Pokemon that range from Flying, Ground, Psychic, or Normal Pokemon. Dark, Ghost and Poison Pokemon should be out of the question. No Pokemon repeats in a generation. My more specific preference includes – Aggron (Main), Bellossom (Main 2), Growlithe, Tirtouga, Mudsdale, and pre-evolution (1) Gen 8 Pokemon. No starters.

Duke NPC Profile Character Name: Samuel J. Lackson Nickname: Samuel (Dukes don’t go by nicknames- Samuel Lackson) Gender: Male Age: 46 Trainer Class: Duke of Caltan Height: 5’ 8” Weight: 195 lbs General Appearance: The first thing everyone notices about Samuel is his face, and the stone serious expression he wears. From there they begin to notice other things, like his short black hair and piercing dark brown eyes. After another moment they notice the lean frame of someone who has been in some form of military or police force. A military green jacket and black jeans, as well as black hiking boots almost complete the image; save for either a lit cigarette or a bottle of beer within reach. Hometown: Union Personality: Samuel exudes a ‘no nonsense’ attitude with everyone he meets. He prefers bluntness to evasion, and actually rewards those who are up front with him even if they made a mistake. He has no patience for fools, and will not hesitate to drop kick anyone who wastes his time. This doesn’t mean that he’s a complete stick in the mud. On official duty he is probably the most strict person you’d ever meet. Outside of the office however he’s much more relaxed. He loves to joke, and he can give as well as he can take. He’ll still drop kick you if you waste his time, but only half as hard. While it looks like beer and cigarettes are his habit, Samuel is not addicted. He can make both a bottle of beer and a single smoke last an entire day, often times alternating between the two as the feelings arise. He does however has a secret weakness for sweets, specifically the berry tarts found in Union. History: Samuel was born a military brat. His father was actually an accountant who had fallen in love with a retired drill sergeant looking to save the money she earned in the military. Unlike other military families his father allowed more flexibility in the household, while still letting some of the structure of the military to seep in. Things like doing chores and being home at a reasonable time had military precision, but also encouraged rewards when expectations are met. This gave Samuel a healthy respect for structure, as it allowed him more freedom as time went on. At the legal age to join the military Samuel didn’t hesitate to join up. Using what he learned while growing up he quickly climbed the ranks until he had surpassed even his mother’s rank of drill sergeant. At the age of 35 he decided to retire to a quiet life back in Union. He never married, nor did he have kids. Instead he spent his time helping troubled teens to find order in their chaotic worlds and bring them from their troubled pasts. At the age of 40 Samuel became politician of Union, acting on behalf of teens and veterans found within all of Godai. It was because of his reputation both inside and outside of the military that Nijuu offered him the position of governing the new region Calta. With no family to hold him back Samuel accepted the position, and ventured forth to bring order to the new chaotic land. Pokemon Preferences:Tank Pokemon: Pokemon that not only can take a lot of hits, but can dish out powerful blows themselves. Ones that can be serious in a fight, but also able to relax when out of battle (much like Samuel).

Caltan NPC Profile Character Name: Jameson Ryo Nickname: James Gender: Male Age: 17 Trainer Class: Explorer Height: 5’ 9” Weight: 193 lbs General Appearance: Looking like he might need a haircut, James’ hair is a dark brown and puffy by nature. His eyes are a similar color, and have a laid back glint to them. He generally wears a worn yellow sleeveless shirt, but in cooler weather he dons an equally work dark blue jacket. On his back he carries a rugged hiker’s backpack, and well as a red homemade umbrella. Hometown: Melka Village Personality: James loves exploring new places. Even as a kid he was found in the oddest of places simply because ‘I’ve had never been there before’. This has caused a lot of embarrassment with his parents, however that didn’t stop James’ itchy feet. He grew up relatively relaxed, but never stopped exploring. At the youngest age possible he left his hometown and struck out to explore all of Godai. North, south, east, and west he travelled. No destination on his mind except to go where he had never been. Many think he has a terrible sense of direction, but in all honesty he just doesn’t care where he ends up. When Calta became available James became one of the first people to visit. He wants to visit every place and to explore every corner. And he doesn’t care if he runs out of places, as he’ll just leave Godai and explore more. Pokemon Preferences: A good variety of Pokemon for almost every situation while exploring. Grass Pokemon with Vine Whip or a Pokemon with Rock Climb to help him get up the mountains. A deep sea water Pokemon to explore the ocean depths. An electric Pokemon to light the way, and a fire pokemon to keep him warm.

Caltan NPC Profile Character Name: Doug Dilllan Nickname: Old man Doug Gender: Male Age: 61 Trainer Class: Fisherman Height: 172 cm/ 5 ft. 7 in. Weight: 95 kg/ 209 lbs. General Appearance: The first thing one can notice about Doug is his posture. Long after his prime, his back is now slouched, making his head stick out. Only worsening his image is his muscle mass. The places of firm and strong muscle have left behind only wabbly, loose fat. He still has enough strength in him to do his job, though. The hardships he has faced are reflected by the calluses on his hands. His face follows suit with a double chin and a plethora of wrinkles. The sunken, round, grey eyes give off a feeling of sadness. One can see the many years of experience in them. The same can be said about his mouth, with the lips being cracked and dry, several miniscule scars being noticeable. Similarly, his nose that is slightly crooked to the left evokes images of old times. These impressions of old age are only amplified by the long, uncombed, silver-grey hair which inelegantly drops into his face and obscures his vision. Dry and weak, it seems more like a cobweb than an actual haircut. The only time he gets it cut is when he is forced to by his wife. That is also how his clothes are chosen. His wife knows that his work requires practical, simple clothing. That is why most of his choices consist of plain, thick shirts and trousers, often laden with many pockets where he keeps bait and other fishing utilities, as well as other random thingamajigs. Usually wearing a hat to protect his head in harsh sunlight, he oftentimes cannot even be looked into the eyes through the shade. Hometown: Tonan Geal Personality: Assertive. Proud. Set in his ways. All of these could be used to describe Doug, but he is more than just this. It is true that he more often than not argues with others over things like politics, morals, values and lifestyles, and it's rare to see him step down, but this comes from years of experience and memories that aren't always enviable. Due to that being the root for his stubbornness, it is hard to find a way to change him now, in his old years. Yet one cannot speak completely ill of Doug, because in his mind, he’s just trying to help his family, friends and people. Not shying away from a fight to defend his stance, be it with Pokémon or fists, he could also be labeled as aggressive. But only when people truly try to understand him do they see how he really is. A man who loves his family - his wife and his children - that he holds dearly in his heart. Always trying to be a role-model of a husband and a father, he had to survive many burdens imposed on him, and these have left some “scars”. Countless sleepless nights spent worrying or even crying have caused quite the impact on not only his mental, but also physical state. He has found a coping mechanism, though - fishing. It’s his peaceful escape from the problems of the real world, where he can just focus on the waves crashing, the wind blowing and the grass swaying in the distance. It also doubles as a source of food and money, so it’s more than just a hobby. More than just a profession. In his eyes, it’s a calling. Yet with the recent political situation, he is worried that it could cause a lot of tension and conflict. He just wants the opportunity to finally stop worrying about things and relax, but he believes that the new developments will not make that possible. Pokemon Preferences: Water Pokémon/ Fish-based/ Fishing-based Pokémon

Caltan NPC Profile Character Name: Margaret Blattia Nickname: Maggy Gender: Female Age: 21 Trainer Class: Pharmacist/ Healer Height: 169 cm/ 5 ft. 6.5 in. Weight: 57 kg/ 126 lbs. General Appearance: A slender young woman, Margaret has an innocent, but regal look. She’s thin and quite frail, but is dexterous and agile. What she lacks in physical strength, she compensates with other qualities. Like an elegant, upright posture, a quick, but controlled stride and slow, yet decisive gestures. She has learnt how to look composed and tactful at all times, because she values these traits in others. This is probably the reason why an aura of calm follows her wherever she goes. Yet her facial features also definitely play a role in this. Her small, narrow, green eyes practically radiate happiness. This is only complemented by the prevalent smile she creates with her thin lips. To top off this cutesy look of her small, but puffy face, her button-like tiny nose sits perfectly in the centre of her face. She also does a good job at preventing hair from obscuring her vision, by keeping her long, chestnut brown hair in a singular braid that reaches down to her waist, only ever being freed at night when it’s time for sleep. She cares about personal hygiene a lot because she knows what dirt and general uncleanliness can do to you. The same goes for clothing - always washed, dried, straightened and folded. After all, when one looks at her, it’s clearly visible she also cares about her fashion. Usually wearing self-sewn summer dresses in shades of green and yellow, she occasionally trades this look for a more warm brown pelt mantle and cap purchased at the local market. One can also occasionally see her wearing ribbons in her hair or on her wrists, also in greenish and yellowish shades. Hometown: Tonan Geal Personality: A gentle spirit, Margaret has always been very physically weak since birth. Often bruising very easily and not being able to build much muscle, she has resorted to speed and wits. She traded afternoons spent outside playing with other children for days cooped up inside reading books about all kinds of things - both fictional and real. However, since both of her parents were often busy working to make sure they had a roof over their head, Maggy had to take care of the whole household herself, due to being an only child. It was difficult at first, but she quickly learnt to replace her lack of brawn with her abundance of brains. Taking up sewing, learning to repair everyday items and machinery, experimenting with culinary recipes, she is quite the jack-of-all-trades. Yet the thing that she liked most was caring for Pokémon and plants. It gave her a sense of purpose and a higher calling in life. That is why she has been so keen on the subject of medicine and herbalism, to help others survive and live a healthy life. But her own life has taken quite the ironic turn, with both of her parents dying to a disease three years ago, she has been all on her own. She opened up a shop with all sorts of remedies and even takes appointments to try to diagnose and treat people with all the knowledge she has amassed. But she is sort of a social recluse despite all this. Keeping all the talk down to the bare minimum needed to do the job and a few formal formulas like greetings, she prefers to keep quiet. That is why many view her as an enigma. It’s not that people didn’t try to socialize with her, some even asked her out, but she has rejected all of these attempts with gentle turn downs, instead finding socialization among Pokémon and even plants. Going for long walks into the meadows and forests, she is familiar with these as if they were her second home and is able to navigate them without any problem. That is where she gets all of her herbs, after all. But she isn’t as ideal as she might seem. In her case, with weak physical health comes weak mental health. She is easily grief-stricken and oftentimes cries when alone. Even to this day she still partly blames herself for her parents’ fate, due to her not being able to heal them or otherwise keep them alive. She gets easily hurt by words and has trouble trusting others. And while she doesn’t get angry easily, once someone manages to irritate her, she can be quite vindictive, even brewing non-lethal poison to get back on the offender. All in all, she holds amazing, even if contradicting natures in herself. Oftentimes, she cannot make sense of her feelings herself, but she doesn’t give up hope and keeps on wishing for a happier life. Who knows, maybe the winds of change that are about to hit Calta are going to make this wish of hers come true. Pokemon Preferences: Grass Pokémon / Flower Pokémon/ Pokémon connected to healing

Caltan NPC Profile "The name's Moses!" Character Name: Moses Yorizon Nickname: Uncle Mo Gender: Male Age: 47 Trainer Class: Portside Merchant Height: 4'8" Weight: 120lbs General Appearance: You'll hear Moses before you spot him. He has a voice that can cause mountaintops to go deaf, and he will use it to get your attention. Moses is also as rugged as a mountain, with tree-trunks for arms and boulders for calves. He's a little on the short side of the spectrum, however, because of his stubby legs. His silhouette is an upside-down triangle. He prefers to carry the common wares on a huge tent-like backpack with golden pendants sticking out of them, stained with years of rain and dust. Despite his age, he has a smooth face, with round, child-like, baby-blue eyes. His skin is a rusty, dusty tan. His smile is a beacon, his nose is a button, and his eyebrows are bushy like Mincinno tails. Hometown: Port Baile Personality:You'll find Moses and his pack-pokemon meandering through Port Baile, striking up conversations left and right. Everyone knows Moses. Even if he does forget who everyone else is... He has a warehouse, which his three younger sons help him maintain the place, but has connections everywhere and can't be kept cooped up in one place. Any need you suppose, give it Moses and he'll know. He knows about anything and everything you can get in Port Baile (even the underground wares). He can sniff insincerity like a nasty fart, however, and won't stand for haggling. He's been in the business for years and was a thief as a child. His parents died when he was young, forcing him to take care of himself and be sympathetic toward others in tough circumstances. Moses will warn you about the dangers that can befall you if you're not prepared. Most people end up purchasing something from Moses out of fear for the stories he tells of unprepared travelers, or out of his genuine nature. Don't get him started on his family or he will talk to you about his darling wife Sara, his triple-terror kids and his nephews until the sun falls down. Your wallet will be empty, and you'll have bought enough merchandise to be your own merchant. Pokemon Preferences: A cute pokemon that floats around him, and then a bunch of toughies to help him carry his merchandise.

Caltan NPC Profile Character Name: Iris Smithings Nickname: Mrs. Reaper Gender: Female Age: 73 Trainer Class: Gravekeeper Height: 163 cm / 5’ 4” Weight: 51 kg / 112 lbs. General Appearance: If one were to meet Iris at night, they’d probably consider her a spectre or wraith. Her skin pale as moonlight, sunken eyes and skinny build make give her an undead-like appearance. Due to her high age and poor diet, one would expect her to walk slowly and weakly, legs trembling with every step. But the opposite is true - her movements are steady and limbs even a bit muscular, due to the amount of manual labor she has to do everyday. One could even consider her physique healthy. When the gaze shifts to her face, however, it is clearly visible that something isn’t entirely right. Lips dry and cracked, her mouth only rarely curls up into a smile. Most of the time, one sees her frowning or with an expressionless line for a mouth. Wrinkles she has aplenty, from her chin all the way to her forehead. From her bony cheeks all the way to her crooked, pointy nose spans a dense, wide line of age spots. Some of them are a bit obscured by the eye bags that have formed under her big, round, deep-blue eyes. These eyes have once shone with cheery energy, but now they seem empty and even a bit scary. A bit higher up is her small forehead, which directly leads to the many strands of silver-like hair that she keeps in a bun so that they won’t get in her way. All of this makes most first impressions of her quite negative. Her fashion sense (or lack thereof, rather) doesn’t help the situation at all. Almost her entire wardrobe consists of items in black, grey and violet, with the occasional brown tones here and there. Oftentimes seen in rugged robes and cloaks, with muddy leather boots, she comes off as a lost wanderer, not a citizen. Not that she minds what she looks like - after all, as long as the clothing is comfortable and practical, what is there to care about? Hometown: Port Baile Personality: Always smiling. Able to cheer anyone up. A walking sunshine. All these things have been said about Iris in her younger days. She was truly a sight to behold, both on the outside and the inside. Upbeat, bubbly and constantly happy, it is no wonder that she was very popular. And that popularity led to a swift and happy marriage. It’s a shame the two lovebirds only had two years to spend together, before her husband left for a trip and has since then been missing. Day after day, more and more people had lost hope that he’d return. Eventually, it was only Iris who had a sliver of hope left. But that was also bound to end. Ever since that incident, Iris has been changing, changing for the worse. She gradually went out less and less, woke up later and went to sleep later. This led to her becoming a social recluse, blocking off everyone, be it family or friends. Nowadays she rarely leaves her home to join other people, only if she needs something urgently that can only be acquired in the city. The career she has chosen fits this lifestyle perfectly - after all, the dead cannot speak and do not care about the time of day. If one has any business with her, they’d better prepare to visit her at night, because she rises at dusk and lays down at dawn. And it’d be best if one’s prepared to not hold any sort of conversation besides the utmost necessities. Talking is not something she likes to do. It needs to be said that she does her job vigorously, however. She takes her duties as a gravekeeper seriously and doesn’t slack off. That is the reason why the graveyard looks so clean and well-kept. It doubles as her home as well, so that might be the reason why. Her demeanor, silent treatment and appearance have all lead to her becoming Mrs. Reaper. She invokes terror in most citizens, and those who remember her from the past have a hard time believing who she is now. She herself doesn’t care about who she is or what she gets called. She has learnt to accept life’s hardships and problems, and how to separate the things that matter from the senseless ones. This has resulted in her apathetic, grim persona. A persona that only a miracle could hope to change. Pokemon Preferences: Ghost Pokémon / Dark Pokémon

Caltan NPC Profile Character Name: Michael Keener Nickname: - Gender: Male Age: 19 Trainer Class: Blacksmith’s apprentice Height: 186 cm / 6’ 1” Weight: 85 kg / 187 lbs. General Appearance: Tall and well-built, Michael has the strength and vitality of a young Tauros. Spending most of his time in the smithy, he has amassed muscle mass everywhere, making his body toned. He also oftentimes runs errands for his teacher, giving him speed and agility, as well as a nice bronze tan from all the sun exposure. He makes sure to shave, so one won’t find any body or facial hair on him. All of this makes for a youthful look full of optimism and energy. The sparks lighting up his eyes are a definite motivator as well. Never have small, buttony, hazel eyes radiated such positivity. Big, fuzzy, eyebrows of raven-black adorn these orbs, as well as a short, but wide nose. Right below one will find lips that never cease on smiling. Be it a slight grin or a cheeky smirk, rarely has anyone seen Michael not beaming. On the sides of his head, big ears poke out of the black fuzzy mess some would call hair. Kept relatively short, he doesn’t seem to care for it much except for the occasional wash, giving it an unruly and messy aesthetic. Similarly dirty are his clothes. Almost always working means almost always having a work attire on. Not having much time to worry about hygiene during work, his clothes are oftentimes full of stains, burns and holes. Thankfully, his other clothes - the ones he uses when he doesn’t have to work - are relatively hole-free, ironed and washed. They’re kept fairly simple, though, nothing much beyond a few shirts, pants and boots. All in boring, neutral colors, like brown or white. Hometown: Port Baile Personality: Michael might be compared to a meadow that is blooming 24/7. He never stops trying to make people happy, always cracking jokes, laughing and generally just trying to cheer up others. Many people talk to him when they’re having a rough day or when things just aren’t going their way. Michael always tries his best to make these people have a better day, no matter how frustrated he may be himself. This attitude leads to him having a big group of friends to surround himself with. Little does he know that most of these so-called friends are just with him because he doesn’t seem to burden them with any problems, but if things were to get worse, who knows how many would stay to stand by his side. This isn’t the only thing in which his naivety could potentially hurt him. He often fails to recognize scams or threats. Countless times has he lost money because he fell for cheap business practices or shady tricks. The biggest problem - he doesn’t realize this. No matter how many times his childish worldview backfires at him, he refuses to see a problem with it. Many have tried to teach him that the world we live in isn’t an ideal place, but to no avail - his opinion stubbornly remains. These are the traits most people see in Michael. But he has his own inner demons as well - and he certainly doesn’t like to show them to other people. He is frequently bothered by not being able to become a good blacksmith like his teacher. He’s trying hard, but it seems this job is not cut out for him, only getting “passing grades”. He tries to think of a better profession, but can’t find anything that he’d be able to do well. That’s why he’s hoping that the new Godian connection might provide him with an opportunity - a chance to finally find something he’s good at. But who knows if that won’t shatter his idealistic view of the world. Pokemon Preferences: Upbeat and jolly Pokémon, preferably of the Fire or Steel type.

Duke NPC Profile Character Name: Adeline Jim Nickname: Lin Gender: Female Age: 36 Trainer Class: Duke of Caltan Height: 5’5” Weight: 124 lbs General Appearance: Adeline moves with a purpose. When she is walking into a room, you can tell that she knows exactly where she is going and why. Her movements are confident, albeit a bit rigid, revealing that they come from years of practice instead of natural self-assuredness. However, when she talks with someone, that disappears. Her body turns to face them fully, giving them undivided attention. He head moves slightly forward, seemingly gripping to everything said to her. And when she responds, the thoughtfulness behind it overshadows the speech itself. She makes others feel like they matter and that their ideas are worthwhile, oftentimes pulling people out of their shell just by being nearby. Hometown: Kotoba City, East Godai Personality: There is plenty in Adeline that leads to a very complex personality, one started with the dichotomous setting of her raising. She is overall extremely confident, almost dipping over the line into arrogance . She has forced herself to believe in her abilities, and demands that others do as well through her actions. She also strives to earn this feeling, both from herself and others. As such, she is a bit of workhorse. Normally this is fine, but it can rub others the wrong way, especially when she begins to take over a project. This overbearing nature disappears as soon as the task gets finished, leaving some to question which side of her is real and which is a persona put on by her. When it comes to people, she cares deeply about them and their problems and can quickly become emotionally invested in anything (or anyone) put in front of her. This can be dangerous, as it can cause frustration and sometimes even drag out issues due to her attachment to it. However, the good outweighs the bad here. More often than not, she has twisted this to her advantage and used her caring to find solutions that satisfy both sides, something that she has made a career out of. This also has given her a knack at reading people, a vital skill when dealing with opposing sides. She uses this to prioritize their needs and find what fat can be cut. After this, she writes up a deal and presents it. This is when her lawyer face comes out. A stoic expression covers her face and her sole focus becomes on completing the deal. While she does not get disrespectful, she is not afraid to be sharp in her responses. She does not tolerate people messing with her or the other side and will stop this in its tracks as soon as she notices. Business will be done in good faith with her involved, and if one decides to not follow this, then they forfeit all rights to fairness with Adeline. She is not infallible, though. While she has built herself a very successful persona, some parts of her are still vulnerable. She is self-conscious about her speech impediment, and anything that points this out will fluster her and cause it to become even worse. Along with this, she has a deep need to be liked by everyone. She does not handle people hating her for no reason, and she will do whatever she can to get their affection back. This is not public knowledge, but there are a small handful of people who have figured this out and have used it to their advantage when dealing with her. When not dealing with all the work that comes with being a Duke, Adeline likes to spend time outside writing poetry. She adores the vibrant colors of Calta and uses that for inspiration in her writing, as well as the people around her. Most of her writing is on the human heart and the emotions that swirl through it every day. If she isn’t writing about this, then she is probably busy experimenting with new recipes in her small home. Recipes are just guidelines to her, and they are ignored constantly. History: {The Beginning}Adeline was born into a modest family in the inner section of Kotoba City. She was the younger of two children, with her brother being two years older than her. Her parents embodied the struggle of Kotoba, as her mother stuck to the traditional ways of herbalism while her father was a small business owner near the rapidly evolving city center. Thankfully, Lin’s early childhood was mostly protected from this friction, so she was able to live a carefree life of adventure and mischief with the other children that lived in her apartment building.
As she got older, struggles began to arise. A speech impediment developed, leading to plenty of teasing and bullying from those around her. Even her brother, whom she was quite close to, could not resist the temptation to poke at that wound when they squabbled. This lead to a period of isolation in her life where friendship was scarce and the few interactions she could have with her own peers were emotionally draining at best. The normally extroverted girl began to withdraw, oftentimes shutting herself into her room to read and avoiding even her own parents as much as possible. This obviously concerned them, and after searching around for options, they finally enrolled her in an extracurricular class across the city in order to help her with her speech. Though expensive and time-consuming, they believed this would be the best shot to help their precious daughter overcome this and become their bubbly child again.
Over time, the classes did prove useful. They minimized the effects of the impediment enough for Lin to begin reaching out again. After about a year of this, she had gotten to a point that she had regained some friends and was back to a relatively happy life. The bullying never fully stopped, and that still cut deep to her, but enough of it was gone for her to smile again. This gave her peace, even if it was momentarily. {Hardship}Unbeknownst to her, the bills were piling up, and the class fees were not helping. While neither parent regretted the investment, budgeting had become a festering wound in their relationship. Bitterness had been growing over the year, leading to many hushed arguments about how to proceed. This finally boiled over one night when the question about how to celebrate Adeline’s accomplishment. The well-meaning question was enough to finally break the barrier holding their emotions back, and a true fight ensued. It lasted well into the night, with plenty of horrible things said and objects broken. Adeline hid with her brother throughout this, both of them crying in the dark corner of his room. The adults eventually calmed down and tabled the argument before coming in to console the children. They did their best, but Adeline had heard enough. She knew that her speech, something that had already caused her plenty of pain, had hurt her family as well. She put on a good face for her parents, but she silently cried well after her parents had put her to sleep.
Tensions were high in the family, but no more huge events happened over the next several years. She entered secondary school and focused on her studies during that time. She was driven to succeed and had plans for college and beyond. When not busy with her schoolwork, she helped her father in his store. She had a knack for numbers that only became more polished as she helped balance the books. As she had gotten older, her peers had also come to grow used to her slight impediment, and for most it seemed to fade away. Her social circle grew, and she became relatively popular. Overall, secondary school was pretty enjoyable for her, and it helped to keep her busy and away from home. Soon, she graduated, and immediately enrolled in GSUC in order to pursue a law degree. Her path to becoming a lawyer had begun.
GSUC was a taxing time, but she was not one to back away from a challenge. She fought her way through the grueling course load, doing everything she could to get her grades up. She also worked part-time to help cover whatever costs were not covered by her grants. It was not uncommon for her days to stretch well over 16 hours, but those bags under her eyes did nothing to stop her. She refused to step back and ask or even receive any help from her family. This was hers to do, and she was adamant to do it on her own.
During this time, the conflict of old and new began to rear its head in Kotoba City again, with plenty of opposition to some of the expanding companies trying to enter the city limits. Lin’s father was fighting to keep his job. His store was modern enough to draw the ire of those who loved the city’s history while also being small enough to be constantly threatened by the ever-encroaching businesses. He began calling his daughter for help on how to navigate these waters, and so she began using some of her extra course slots to help understand the complex nature that is business. She helped him stay ahead of the new laws and make his setup more efficient in order to stay viable in the market. These talks were most of her interaction with her family during her college years, and it helped her grow even closer to her father. Her mother and her, however, grew more distant over this, as she did not approve of the path that Lin was taking. {Failure}Finally, graduation from GSUC also came. She was in the top third of her class and had done well enough to get plenty of offers from throughout Godai. Despite all the options given to her, she picked one of the least lucrative ones: a position with a law firm back in Kotoba that focused on family legal counsel. It allowed her to stay close to her family while also working to help families come together. Or so she thought.
While she was decent at her work, it was constantly draining. Her goal when deciding on this path was to protect families and keep them together as much as possible. Instead, her job constantly dealt with separations and feuds. While the occasional adoption case or such came along, filling her slightly with a feeling of purpose, most of her time was spent trying to just get couples to calm down enough to decide on how best to split. It took a lot out of her, and she struggled to keep up with the time it demanded. Nonetheless, she held on, because she knew the day would come that had lead her to this.
That day was the day of the pagoda demolition. When the news broke, half the city was outraged. Chaos ensued as protesters arose and disputes with those that welcomed change became violent. In the center of the mess was the Jim family. Adeline’s father revealed that he had accepted an offer to have his store become part of the department store once built. Her mother was outraged, and she threw a glass at his head. Their nastiest fight yet lead to the long-seen decision of divorce. They picked up the phone and called their children to break the news.
Adeline immediately sprung into action, clearing a spot for them in her calendar. Her brother had the opposite reaction. He had already been drifting farther and farther from the family over the years and had moved to Cadence a few years back for work. Upon hearing the news, he decided he was done with the family and cut ties with them completely. The lack of her brother only made the discussion more difficult when Lin set the pair down and tried to talk them out of this. The couple could not decide on much, so their divorce was stagnant for a few months as they tried to decide what they wanted to do. Change finally happened when her father let slip that Lin had actually advised her father take the offer from the department store. Her mother was furious and immediately cut her daughter down over betraying her in such a way. Lin tried to explain, but her mother would have none of it, and she stormed out. The next day, she formally fired Lin and hired a new attorney to handle the divorce. Lin had officially failed to save their marriage. {Restarting}Lin formally resigned a week later. Her drive for the work was finished, and without that motivation the work was just too much. She went back to her father’s business, helping him in the interim while they waited for construction to continue. Her mother had packed her things and moved back with some of her family, so it was just Adeline and her father during this time. She stayed there for a short period of time, doing her best to take care of the business and home during this time. Her father was originally grateful for it, but after a month he sat her down and talked with her about her future. The business wasn’t going to need her, and she had a lot more going for her than staying stuck with her father. He nudged her to pursue another type of law and give it another shot. She was reluctant, but eventually agreed to try. She sent out her resume and waited. She got a few responses, one of which was a law firm based in Kroy. It had a focus on business transactions, and they liked that she had some experience in business already. After considering it, she accepted, and so fully moved out of Kotoba City for the first time in her life.
The next few years were a whirlwind. She picked things up quickly and proved her worth time and time again. She rose through the ranks at an unprecedented rate. She signed clients left and right and juggled a multitude of cases at a time. Her ability to find alternatives for clients lent her a reputation as someone who could settle a case outside of court. The firm capitalized on this by making her their top mediator, and she delivered. The firm’s success rate caught the eyes of some very powerful people, including part of the Nijuu.
This member of the Nijuu hired the firm to handle some of their transactions, checking to see how they handled it. To their surprise, not only did they manage to complete the work quickly, but they also saved them hundreds of thousands of dians in the process by catching a clerical error from a few years prior. Impressed with the work, they passed their name on to the Queen herself. She, in turn, decided to reach out and see if they might be able to help with some economic issues they were having with an island called Calta. They sent a few of their top attorneys to meet with her, including their best mediator. {Calta}It took several months of work in order to work out some of the wrinkles in the setup. Adeline went back and forth between Calta and Godai several times over this period, focusing all her energy into this project. Her business sense and legal knowledge helped her command the respect of the Godaian officials working with her, while her own experiences with the differences in culture of Kotoba helped her empathize with the native people of the island. Over the course of this time, she began to win over the Caltan populace and became well-regarded on the land. This was not lost on the Queen nor the Nijuu. They noted how the Caltans reacted to her presence and used it to their advantage during later meetings. Nearly a year later, the work they had been hired to do had been completed. The Queen called Lin to a private meeting before she went back to her firm. There, she announced that Lin was not returning to Kroy, but was instead going to move to Calta. She had officially been assigned to the island as the official Duke and would serve as her country needed. In this case, that meant keeping the peace. No matter what.
Unable to argue with the Queen herself, Adeline took the title when Calta was officially annexed. Since then, she has lived on the island and dealt with the locals. While her knowledge was in business, not politics, her ability to help with trade between the two allowed her to keep the task the Queen gave her: keep the Caltans content. She leaned heavily on her traditional roots, further enamoring her to the native people. She, in turn, found herself to grow fond of their world as well. While it was hard being away from her father, she had had so little family at the end that the people around her ended up filling that void. She made many public appearances and kept up a friendly demeanor to those that met with her. Her presence alone made most Caltans feel like things were running more smoothly than they actually were. Behind closed doors, Lin was constantly putting out small fires and doing everything she could just to keep afloat. The Queen had recently been asking for more information as well, just adding to her workload. While she wouldn’t openly admit it, there was a bit of friction beginning to form there at what the Queen kept asking for. Pokemon Preferences: I would suggest pokemon that represent both growth and empathy for Adeline. Personally, I think a Cherrim would fit her well, but anything that works with her ability to see both sides of a situation and work with people directly would be good. Young Gen 8 pokemon would be very welcome, as she would have not really had much time for pokemon before going to Calta.
