Trainer Profile
Character Name: Shinichi Urio
Nickname: Urio, Detective Urio, Shin
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Trainer Class: Detective
Birthday: 171 AG
Zodiac Sign: Year of the Munchlax
Height: 5'10"
Weight:146 lbs
Hair Color & Style:
Shinichi's hair is a dark brown, so dark that it's nearly black. He keeps it cut consistently to where his nose and forehead meet. However, he sweeps it to the right so it looks shorter, showing his forehead.
Eyes:hinichi's eyes are shaped like a football slanted slightly upwards. They're colored a metallic grey that goes from dark close to the cornea to a slightly lighter shade of blue on the outer part of his iris. They're worn and hardened from his years on the force and as a result have become empty over the years, as though he's never really there. His eyebrows are curved and aligned parallel to his eyes. (as in not slanted or anything like that)
Clothing/Accessories:While on duty or just going outside, Shinichi wears a grey trench coat over a white collared dress shirt and navy blue tie. On top of his head is a fedora, and a pair of sunglasses with black rims sit upon his nose. He also wears a pair of Khaki pants with a black belt looped around them and chestnut brown dress shoes on his feet. Inside his trench coat, Shinichi also posses a pistol issued to him in the event that he might have to use it.
However during the warmer months, it gets hot in this rather heavy attire, and as a result, Shinichi sheds is coat and long shirt for a more comfortable short-sleeved white button-down with the same blue tie. Along with a pair of khaki shorts with a brown belt around his waist.
While at home Shinichi sheds his heavy clothing for something a little bit more comfortable. Leaving his head and face devoid of all clothing Shinichi keeps it simple, wearing a white collared shirt and jeans. Along with a pair of plain white sneakers.
It's not that Shinichi doesn't wash his clothes, he has multiple pairs of the same outfits. Over many years of dealing with his condition Urio has learned to go with the flow and as a result, he likes to keep his wardrobe simple
General Appearance:Shinichi's skin is white, despite being a little tan he still burns easily. His face, though round in shape, is hardened from his years on the force. At times he may seem older than he is. The few emotions that he does express are often times awkward or over exaggerated. However, despite his blank expression, most people perceive him to be a normal person on first sight. His face is cleanly shaven and the rest of his body, besides his head, doesn't have very much hair on it. He's relatively tall, and he's muscular along with his weight so he doesn't look super skinny. And with a medium frame, his weight balances out rather nicely. His legs are slightly longer than his torso but not so much that's it's noticeable with a quick glance. He walks around with his hands shoved into the pockets of his coat and slouching over. His head is always down like he's always thinking intensely over something. Like bothering him would risk disturbing his intense train of thought.
Hometown: Wisteur Town, East Godai
Shinichi suffers from multiple personality disorder (some call it dissociative identity disorder) thus he has two separate personality/ identities. His first personality, which is the one that's actually Shinichi(or the main personality), is cool and calculating. He's constantly analyzing the world around him, trying to notice any suspicious activity. Years of training to become a detective have left his body sharp and his mind sharper. Not to mention He was taught not to feel, that love, pain, and hope would be his greatest weakness. As a result, Shinichi has become very bland and boring, he keeps all of his emotions pent up inside of him allowing nothing to faze him ever since the love of his life died. This, however, doesn't mean he doesn't think about these things. His involuntary coldness to other people's affection is a very troubling fact that shakes him to his very core. If someone close to me were to die would I even feel upset?" "This person was really friendly to me, why can't I be nice back?" "Can you even call someone like me a human?" thoughts like these plague his mind, he wants to feel happy and he wants to feel angry but whenever he emotes it's all forced and fake. All these tragic things happening around him and yet he can't muster a single tear. In fact he feels so strongly about this that one of the main reasons he continued to be a detective at all was because he believes that saving people from evil forces must mean that he cares about something in one way or another, and so he holds onto that idea for dear life.
These thoughts fuel Shinichi's depression: "if I can't feel the affection and feelings of other people why should he bother doing anything at all? You'll never be normal" Often times when he's left to his own thoughts he thinks this question over and over again. His chest starts to hurt and his heart beats faster and he just sits down for hours on end until his alarm goes off or someone wakes him up from his trans-like state.
Shinichi's second identity is like the little devil on your shoulder. When not in "control" of the main personality in the body this identity is weak and usually manifests itself through little whispers attempting to tell him what to do or think. When he is the main personality, Shinichi becomes loud and intolerant. If this personality sees an injustice he speaks out against it.Using vulgar or inappropriate language to support his argument. This subsequently gets Shinichi into a lot of trouble because this personality (named Alpha to keep from confusing themselves) walks around with a chip on his shoulder about every thing that happens to him and more often than not he takes that anger out on the people around him. It's like a red mist covering Shinichi and all he can think about was how he was wronged or how someone made a rude comment and he holds a grudge against those people usually for no good reason. Sometimes Alpha struggles to even think of a reason to be angry, in situations like these Alpha usually just gets frustrated and confused. The reason Alpha's personality is mainly limited being upset about various things is because Alpha usually only takes control when Shinichi feels greatly distressed. For example if someone died and Shinichi couldn't find the killer he would lose control in his time of distress and Alpha would take over instead. Like the main Shinichi Alpha wants to save people too, only his ideas of protecting are different. He believes that life is the true hell, and that by dying you're being "saved" from this hellish place. Not to say that he actively attempts to kill people because he believes he's saving them, it's more that he sees death as a rescue from the normal world, and not that people should die to be saved.
Of course, being cognizant of having different personalities in his head is something that Shinichi can't ignore, the main personality greatly disagrees with the ideals and morals of the second. While the main personality doesn't necessarily think of death as a bad thing, he doesn't believe that death saves you from reality of the real world. Because of Alpha's views Shinichi doesn't like Alpha, and while he's learned to live with him, Shinichi still finds it intensely disturbing that he has a second "person" living inside him. But he tends not to dwell on that anymore as trying to discern how something like that is actually possible isn't something he can deduce on his own. The two are constantly at war with each other, both trying to be the "active" personality, because of this Shinichi is in constant turmoil, and often has trouble making important decisions where the two personalities disagree on.

Shinichi grew up confined in a secluded house in a town that might as well be the middle of nowhere. His parents were detectives, his grandparents were detectives, and now his mother and father were dead set on making him their family's next prodigy. As a result Shinichi spent the majority of his early life stuck in his house reading books and listening to lectures from his parents on the standard public school curriculum as well as criminal investigation, forensics, and any other subjects that his parents deemed necessary to become a world class detective.
From the moment of his birth Shinichi's life was already planned out for him, but unlike most free spirits Urio was surprisingly okay with that. He never had to think forwards to what he was going to do with his life, decisions on what college he would go to and what job he would eventually have were obsolete with this life and thus he was not only okay with his situation, but he was content with his life. Even his relationship with his parents was one of love and not hatred as someone in a situation like Shinichi would usually have. Not only did Shinichi's situation make his life easier, but he was also mesmerized by all the things his parents would teach him, becoming a detective didn't seem like some menial task he was only doing to impress his parents: It was something he wanted to do with all of his heart, to be a detective like Sherlock Holmes.
As he grew older he made it into an elite police academy where he, much to the chagrin of his parents was a close second in his class. Rivaled only to Marie Striker , the smartest, and best looking in the grade. They fell in love shortly after becoming private investigators and working on cases together. In their minds, there was only good guys and bad guys, and their job was to bring the bad guys to justice. Everything was right in the world: with their combined whits they were an unstoppable duo, the perfect couple. They would go out on wild nights in the big city, partying or going to fancy restaurants or finding beautiful locations to just sit down and talk to each other at and kick criminal butt the very next day rain or shine. However in all clichè scenarios such as this good times don't last forever.
During a homicide investigation they had cornered the murderer who had taken a hostage, as Shinichi and Marie were preparing to take him down he pulled out a gun from under his jacket and shot Marie and the hostage, killing both of them and making a break for the door. The man escaped despite Shinichi's best efforts to stop him.
Shinichi was devastated after the love of his life's sudden demise. He would spend weeks alone in his apartment contemplating about his life. Everything up to this was so expected and he had known what his future held for him, but now he was lost. His job was to save people and yet he let 2 innocent people die at the hands of the thing he had spent his entire life preparing to defeat. How could that be saving people? What even was saving someone? These questions flew through his head, penetrating is mind with their malice and destroying him.
Shinichi would lay awake for hours on end at night terrified that the image of Marie's body would reappear if he closed his eyes for more than 10 minutes. Shinichi's work and social life took a turn for the worse: He couldn't do his job when innocent people would be fated to die in the end. For the first time ever Shinichi's ideals had been tested and the investigator didn't know how to handle it. In this time of great turmoil Norman shut himself out from other people in his apartment as well:Friends and family had given up on ever getting through to him and Shin was completely alone for the first time since he could ever remember and it felt like there was no escape.
Eventually he was able to get over this loss, working out all the morally gray area in his head proved to be a good distraction from the pain in his chest. But that was around the time Alpha came in. Balancing out his sanity and his madness he was able to push past everything and continue working as a detective. His other side only ever actually comes out when Shinichi is extremely overwhelmed by a situation (whether it's stress, anger, or any other feeling) and as a result most people don't realize he has a multiple personality disorder, also because Shinichi doesn't want to go around blabbing off about how there's another person living inside his head.It doesn't make for a great first impression.
Alpha started appearing as a very faint, almost whisper-like thought. Shinichi didn't feel right about the thought, as it was one filled with resentment that Shin didn't have at the time. Then Alpha began to actually converse with Shinichi, however Ace Detective Urio thought of it as merely talking with himself and not so much an entirely different being. Shinichi can vividly remember the first time that he actually "Switched" personalities. He was upset with a colleague for stealing away a case that Shinichi was already working on when suddenly he was making actions that weren't his and speaking words he didn't speak, it was as though a witch possessed him and the adult detective who had seen countless killings had never been more terrified than he was that day. And every time Alpha takes over Shinichi feels equally as terrified as during his first time. It's not something that's easy to just get over.
So now Shinichi is working as a private detective, solving crimes with people he's taken under his wing as apprentices. In all his years he's learned that, while there are good and bad people, It's never clear who exactly is doing what for the right reasons. And while saving people is one of his most important goals, what he really wants is to find the person who ripped Marie away from him so that he can finally get his vengeance.
