Trainer Profile
Character Name: Sol Phillip Arylide
Nickname: Solly
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Trainer Class: Pokemon Trainer
Height: 5’ 6”
Weight: 110 lbs.
Hair Color & Style: Sol has thick charcoal colored hair that falls slightly past his collarbone. It is often covering an eye. Sol rarely puts his hair up, it's extremely hot or needs to be out of his way.
Eyes: Sol was born with partial heterochromia, and a small portion of his left eye is pale blue, unlike his right which is solid dark green. His large almond-shaped eyes have flecks of yellow splashed about his inner iris. His eyebrows are thin and rounded at the end closest to the bridge of his nose.
Clothing/Accessories: Sol often wears clothes in warm colors with some black in the mix. Throughout his journey, he carries a big black duffle bag, filled with his necessities.
Sol’s spring attire typically consists of multicolor t-shirts and shorts. If it’s colder than normal, Sol dons a black bomber accentuated with a golden orange. He has many pairs of socks and has brought a few pairs of tennis shoes.
Sol wears light and tight clothing during the hot months. He often wears a sharpedo tooth necklace on a leather cord. He only wears sandals, as he gets too warm, and he may even go barefoot if he feels like it. He has many tank tops, t-shirts, and even a couple crop tops to accompany his many pairs of shorts. Summer is the season Sol accessorizes most in, which is evident in his necklace and the three white bracelets on his right wrist.
Out of all the seasons, Autumn is Sol’s favorite, because his clothing tastes match the surroundings. He will wear light long sleeve tops or t-shirts under a thick coat. He wears shorts over athletic leggings. He wears tennis shoes or boots if he wears jeans. He also has a little bracelet with Pumpkaboos on it.
Winter is Sol’s natural enemy as he can’t wear shorts much, but he finds a way around it by wearing leggings under his shorts. Sol wears long sleeved shirts all season, even with a large parka over it. He mostly wears skinny jeans during winter and has a couple of pairs of boots specifically for the cold months. He has a beanie he likes to wear sometimes. His favorite outfit is an orange long-sleeved shirt with large sleeves. Over that he wears a black vest accompanied by shorts and leggings. He wears tennis shoes with orange accents.
Sol has special outfits, in case he needs them. For example, he has a formal red and black tuxedo, for formal events. He has a couple pairs of pokemon themed pajamas, including Raichu and Noibat, just for fun. He has a couple of pairs of swim bottoms.
General Appearance: Sol has pale skin, splashed with freckles on his shoulders. He has a very slender frame, which makes his mop of dark hair seem larger, and thicker in comparison. He has long legs, which have a little bit of muscle on them, but his arms are thin like twigs. When wearing tight clothing, Sol’s body is revealed to be runty and weak, due to his weight. His face often show a cold look with his thin lips and ill-defined cheek bones. Sol is almost always perceived as a girl, due to his feminine posture and face. Aside from that, Sol is often passed by if he isn't wearing bright colors, but upon closer inspection people find him weak and sloppy.
Hometown: Wisetur Town, East Godai
Sol is a blazing ball of sarcasm and anxiety, among other emotions. At first look, Sol is soft and fragile. He often has trouble stopping his hands from shaking when meeting new people. This stems from his lack of social contact during his childhood, when he would rather be around Pokemon, and his peers would mock him for his over-enthusiastic love. Out of habit, he tends to hide his hands behind his back, until the shaking stops, to seem more composed. His preference towards Pokemon stems from his subconscious need to be liked. Pokemon can't exactly voice their judgments like people can, so he turns to them in fear of rejection from people.
He can be sweet and he can be salty. It all depends on how his day has been. Sol keeps to himself mostly, but if he keeps his frustrations bottled up, his fuse can be set off by even the littlest things. No one person has the same emotion all the time, and that remains true for Sol. His minor tendency to over analyze things can often keep him absent from the present, which can keep him out of the loop. He gets lost in thought so often that his eyes seem to gloss over and he turns into a human wall. It's almost as if there's no way to reach him in this state, as the sheer anxiety of what he might have done wrong keeps him entranced. That's not to say anxiety is a fault, as it keeps him cautious, but it also keeps him from letting people in.
When comfortable, or just feeling confident, Sol puts his sharp wit to good use, by coming up with a quip to knock someone off their high horse or to simply make them laugh. He knocks people down so that if they are lower or on the same level as Sol, they will find him to be a more suitable friend. He knows that it's wrong to do that, but he would rather have people not wan to be around him for what he said rather than not like him for who he is.
He is very compassionate about the things he loves and doesn’t let people stop him from liking the things he finds interesting. His compassion lights a fire inside of him, giving him the motivation to accomplish his goals. His passion is so strong that he finds it harder to communicate with someone who doesn't share his love for things such as pokémon. Aside from his deep love of pokémon, Sol finds pop music and fantasy novels to be the most interesting past times.
He is typically rational, but when he gets mad or love struck, he loses all composure. He’ll find himself losing focus on the present, and being overcome with raw emotion. He often finds himself overcome with rage when he sees others being cruel to pokemon. It makes his blood boil, luckily Sol has never experienced that, but if he saw someone mistreating a pokemon, he would not hesitate to go off. He can't stand being bullied, but fears that if he tries to stand up for himself, he could get hurt wore than he already has been. If he ever saw someone getting bullied, he would wait until things escalated before he got involved, as he still holds the same fear about bullies regardless of the person.

Sol Arylide was born on a summer morning, to Jace and Rosetta Arylide. He was welcomed into this world by his older brother Jasper following Sol’s release from the hospital. His family was by no means poor, but they weren’t drowning in dians either. He grew up in a reasonably sized home in Wisetur Town. He grew up surrounded by pokemon from his parents’ journeys as trainers. From an early age, Sol was destined to fall in love with the wonderful creatures that filled this world, as he was always around them from the moment he was brought home, and they always entertained him and were concerned for him when he cried. His mother's Infernape would cradle him in her arms when he would throw tantrums, and he would almost instantly calm him down when he felt her warmth and saw her loving face. His parents Pokemon watched him and his brother when they had something important to do and could not bring their children.
When Sol started school, he was an avid learner, but still not entirely open to the idea of interacting with other kids. He spent more time with the class pokemon than most did, even if it the pokemon didn’t do much. Pokemon were his escape when other kids called him names, he would often stand on the sidelines of trainer battles if he had a hard day at school, and soon after it became a hobby. The battles distracted Sol from how hurt he felt, and brought excitement to his dull life.
He met some other kids who were just as passionate as him about Pokemon, his soon to be best friend actually introduced Sol to the idea of being a trainer, instead of just looking at trainers. It was from then on that Sol and Ace Chisholm, the aforementioned friend, took to the path of trainers. The pair instantly hit it off, their first meeting was during a battling tournament that was happening in town, Sol and Ace were cheering for opposing trainers when the two got into a heated argument. The argument quickly turned into an admiration of each others knowledge. Sol used his wit, which he developed to leave bullies baffled, on Ace when the two had their verbal scuffle.
When the pair first started hanging out, they spent all their time researching pokemon battling strategies, every moment was filled with pokemon. They bonded quickly, and the two would never be far from the other, even as the night slowly crept up on the duo. Jasper would often have to drag Sol back to the real world, he tried as much as he could to protect his brother, because his brain was filled with dreams, Sol was unaware of the ridicule that was upon him from other kids. Sol was too caught up in his dream of becoming a Pokemon Trainer, because once he was finally turned it into a reality, people would finally like him.
As he got older, Sol’s parents started to feed into his dreams and started saving for both his and Jasper’s supplies. When Sol was ten, he figured out that Pokemon couldn't always save him from the harshness of life, when one of his classmates started picking on him, nothing that hadn’t bothered him before. But one day, Sol got so fed up with it, he fired back with an insult of his own and ended up with a black eye. When he returned home, his parents nursed him, while Jasper went into a tirade about how somebody could get mad for something they deserved. Sol found that Jasper was more beat up than he was, his older brother was so worked up he couldn’t seem to control himself and wound up getting emotional, even for an eleven-year-old. Sol tried to keep his problems to himself after that, rather than have Jasper blow up on someone. But, due to his family's intuitiveness, Sol never kept anything to himself for long. His parents understood what he was trying to do, but they wouldn't allow their son to keep himself locked away in his own head. Instead of keeping himself emotionally blocked, he trained his mind to analyze his decisions and figure out what could go wrong.
In the years following, Sol stuck to his studies, his friends, and his family. By the time he turned thirteen, Sol realized he wasn’t ready for his license, as he hadn’t ever really had experience other than what he had read and seen. He convinced his mother to let him mock battle using her pokemon and practiced for a few years learning the ins and outs of battling. His parents supervised his mock battles and helped him properly train for his journey. Sol always worked well with fire types, and his father's Pyroar was always his favorite. When he turned fifteen he got his trainer license, but without a pokemon it was useless.
On his sixteenth birthday, his parents gifted him with a Salandit, whom Sol lovingly named Chandra. It had taken his parents a few days to decide if this pokemon, which neither of them had experience with, was the perfect partner for their son. Upon first meeting the Salandit, they found she matched Sol's enthusiasm and passion, and was later placed in a Pokéball for his special day. With his supplies ready, and his pokemon by his size, Sol opens his front door. With a final wave goodbye and an I love you, Sol began his journey.
