Hair Color & Style Jet black and conditioned to a top tier sheen, Martini's hair reaches well past her shoulders and stops halfway down her spine. Often styled with bows and pins, the girl takes great pride in managing her obsidian locks and ensures that any would-be hairdo is both functional and chic. Her hair is often anointed with only the best of products and is perpetually dancing with the fragrance of rose and grepa berries. Whilst Martini experiments with hair styles, often within the professional care of very talented stylists, she is most commonly seen with her hair tied up into a simple bun or adorned with bows. It has, more or less, become her trademark. Sleek and voluminous, the girl maintains hair styles that are both aesthetically pleasing and easy to manage. Eyes | Clothing/Accessories Appearances are everything. Martini understands the value of this to the nth degree that she verges on pedantic. Being properly dressed for all occasions is a task that the heiress takes seriously and she endeavors to ensure her wardrobe maintains a consistent aesthetic. Balancing a style that hybridizes lolita fashion and luxury branding, Martini has mastered a look that both works for her and the eyes of anyone treated to her presence. Perpetually dressed to impress and never one to go outside looking less than appealing, Martini regularly employs the style philosophy that one should 'always catch the eyes when the mind is busy' no matter the occasion. On cooler days is when Martini is forced outside, she adorns herself with scarves, mittens, thick coats, boots (always black) and her very large collection of hosiery. In contrast, when the weather is hotter, the heiress clothes herself in loose fitting and comfortable items such as over sized shirts, skirts and sheer tops. Due to her bust size, being a mere A cup, Martini also goes about some days without a bra, for both her own comfort and her sleek aesthetic. Plus, who needs one anyway? As a result of her decision to 'travel', Martini has begrudgingly foregone designer shoes and opted for sturdier boots and more stylish runners. A big fan of accessorizing, the girl adores jewelry and is particularly drawn to rings of all shapes and sizes, it is a very rare occasion to not see Martini with several shiny pieces on her well manicured fingers. Although the heiress maintains a more chic appearance when out and about she isn't one to disregard the occasional piercing. She has nine piercings altogether, the majority of them adorning her ears and the rest in hidden spots bought on a whim. |
General Appearance Martini possesses a slim, petite figure with supple porcelain skin that reveals no unwanted blemish. Almond shaped eyes are crowned with a pair of meticulously cared for brows, striking features that enhance her waifish charm and soft girlish appearance. Small lips (always coated in red or pink) are almost always curled into an amused sneer and anyone with a keen enough eye may notice the one canine being slightly larger than the other. A small pointed nose balances out the rest of her facial features, tying everything together when not wrinkled in disgust or disapproval. As a result of her years of gymnastics Martini has attained impressive posture and muscle tone. Furthermore her time as a gymnast has granted her surprising flexibility and athleticism even though she still appears dainty and relatively harmless. Martini's slender midsection forms into perky hips and lithe legs, her belly button adorned with a piercing rarely seen by most. Dainty hands are kept to a consistently moisturized softness, with nails kept to a professional sheen and cuticles kept away from any inquisitive eye. Also, her feet are tiny, at a mere size 5. |
{Personality}
Martini Ravensdale is the perfect example of what happens when 'only child syndrome' meets an environment that caters to one's every whim and wish; it creates a materialistic, narcissistic and privileged individual whose brattiness is only exceeded by her iron willed stubbornness. As the heir to her father's casino, Martini possesses an air of entitlement that has been instilled into her ever since she was old enough to think. She was born and bred to be a winner, which has naturally fostered an innate sense of superiority over many who cross her path. Unsurprisingly, growing up surrounded by gamblers and ruthless business types has instilled in the girl a near sociopathic ambition that is neither impeded by forethought or conscientiousness.
Furthermore, living a life of privilege amidst the most affluent individuals has instilled in the young woman high expectations over many aspects of life. Be it romance, work or any hobby she decides to take on. This, in turn, has led to cases of severe disappointment and gradually fostered a cynicism she has only strengthened over the years. Martini strives for perfection and will, sometimes consciously, deteriorate positive avenues in her life in a bid for control. This has imposed serious psychological conditioning which has not only caused extra stress for Martini but leaves her mentally drained if something does not go as planned. As a result, Martini is often stricken with debilitating anxiety if a lack of control remains consistent
Whilst her personality generally paints her as a shallow and cruel individual who comes at odds with the vast majority of people, she does maintain some positive traits. Martini is a highly ambitious individual who will use whatever means necessary to get what she wants. She strikes hard bargains fast and will rarely settle for compromises that do not favour her This ruthlessness is only matched by her devotion to what she loves. That being herself, power, decadent living and her pokemon. Not only are her pokemon magnificent accessories but genuine comforts amidst the angst ridden transition into adulthood, for they are an unbreakable link to her childhood. The sheer nostalgia from simply interacting with the creatures is enough to satisfy the little girl Martini has mentally smothered during her adolescent years.
For all of her elitist snobbery and sly cunning, the girl truly does crave genuine affection from those around her. Even if she goes about it in self destructive ways and, at times, confuses said affection for admiration. Although she generally keeps people at an arms length, Martini will, at times best suited to her, exercise a more generous and kindred personality. Being an only child did leave her isolated throughout her younger years and the thought of true friend is something she secretly strives for underneath the need for respect and materialistic wealth. Whether her overt selfishness gets in the way of connecting peoplewill be a true test for someone who grew up with 'it all'.

{History}On the eave of the winter solstice of 180 AG, the heir to the Ravensdale empire was born. Named after her father's favourite drink, Martini was ushered into Godai squalling, pale skinned and with a heavy mop of jet black hair. She was smaller than a majority of babies and was held in the incubation clinic for a little while longer at her young mother's request. Aiko, a respected pianist in musical circles, took no risks with the well-being of her first child and ensured any and all care was afforded to the girl. Fortunately, the young Martini's frail figure was all her doting parents had to fuss over and after several weeks of dutiful care, the young heiress was brought back to the pearly white cliff sides of Aurmouth to uproarious celebration.
Aurmouth city was a beacon of modern culture and design and it was only expected that the wide eyed daughter of Alistair Ravensdale would come to familiarize herself with its every nook and cranny. It was, after all, a place to learn and develop in an environment above the usual fare. Her infancy was filled with the sounds of her mother's singing voice, the frenzied bustle of the house maids and the waves lapping against the nearby shoreline. The shrill dings of the slot machines and the hum of casino patrons was a cacophonous song that would only come later, after her peaceful and rather uneventful first three years of life.
Martini was a spoilt child, every whim or demand was quickly met by those who couldn't deny her wide eyed requests. A doll's house? Done. A ponyta? Done. A jumping castle in the shape of a cupcake? Done. The only person to occasionally deny these childish demands was her mother, who did so out of love. Unlike her husband, who was completely twisted around his daughter's little finger, Aiko exercised a measure of control when dealing with the pouty heiress. The woman understood that a life met with no refusal was no life to live and ensured that Martini was granted some level of reality amidst the overt generosity from everyone else around her.
Such a was a life lesson that the pianist ensured her daughter could latch on to.
Unfortunately, this was all cut short during a family skiing trip to the mountains in the north. Aiko passed away after suffering an epidural hematoma, having collided with an unseen obstacle during what would have typically been considered an easy course. A court marshal ruled the death an accident, one that tore a gash in the privileged existence of the young heiress and her father. Martini was only five years old when this happened.
Now left in the care of her heartbroken and exceptionally overprotective father, Martini's childhood was thrown into a tumultuous gamut of constant stress and an excessive love that only a multi millionaire father could provide. Alistair was so distraught over his wife's death that business gradually became a second priority to his grief and, for a moment, many of his shareholders worried the empire he'd built would gradually crumble underneath his neglect. His daughter was his saving grace, the little dark haired princess who reminded him so much of his beloved wife. Whilst the depression was hurdle that took several months to overcome, the casino kingpin eventually returned, more ruthless than ever. Having gained several new associates in the process, Alistair's return to the business world flourished like a virus. His aim was to honour the legacy of his deceased wife and ensure that his only child would prosper in the near future.
Everything he did, he did for her.
Martini's transition into school was surprisingly smooth considering the tumultuous years that preceded it. Whilst she lacked friends her age she made up for with an adeptness to schoolwork and an unbreakable confidence. Alongside her schooling, the young Martini ventured into gymnastics, a sport her mother was particularly fond of and something the girl took an immediate liking towards. Her days were spent playing princess with the workers in the family mansion, practising her gymnastics and learning the ins and outs of gambling with her father. Whilst life brought constant excitement, it was only so much before the heiress began to feel the gnawing weight of loneliness.
Alistair Ravensdale, who continued spoil Martini during their brief moments of time together, entered a personal renaissance of success, having garnered the respect and partnership with certain individuals from across the nation. Their presence brought growth, a growth that encouraged the mogul to involve his daughter in the intricacies of his flourishing business empire. Now possessing a keen insight afforded to her by growing up with a variety of high risk gamblers, Martini quickly acclimatized to her father's newfound approach to work and began to emulate his ruthlessness and sharpness. What he did with who didn't concern her, all that mattered was that he was there for her when she most needed it.
Fortunately, her eleventh birthday relieved the girl of her gnawing isolation when she was given her first pokemon. It was a Gothita, a chubby little one at that as well. The heiress and the pokemon took an immediate liking towards one another and after giving her a name, Martini and Gypsy became inseparable. They went to school together, slept together, explored the mansion together and became each other's lifeline amidst the big grand world they'd both come to call home.
Whilst it wasn't compulsory, Martini chose to enter secondary schooling after her eventful years in elementary school. She'd obtained a trainer's license, at the behest of her father and strived to continuously improve herself in the endeavours she chose. Gymnastics, whilst no longer her number one priority, was still an extracurricular activity Martini comfortably fit into her weekly routines, now joined with Pokemon training, textiles classes and political science. Acquaintances were made, people her age she could actually tolerate, and her popularity crept up on her like a ghastly in the dark. The heiress took this all in stride of course and utilized her burgeoning understanding of people to the best of her knowledge.
Gone were the worries for her father, she trusted he knew what he was doing even if the local media begged to differ, and her full attention was turned to the betterment of herself. Martini knew she was privileged, something the heiress very much indulged, and sought to make a name for herself outside of just being Alistair Ravensdale's daughter. She had the resources, the confidence and the looks to succeed and after several month's consideration and another month's preparation Martini took the brave step to enter Godai on her own.
It was a gamble she was sure would pay off.
