A few minutes passed after I Reclaim, Repent...
{Pokemon Declaration/Encounter!/Important IC Updates}
- Senuki evolved into a Frogadier!
A few minutes earlier, a middle-aged woman was looking around the streets of Sangproctor as a woman in her 20’s asked several people if they saw a blue frog Pokemon wandering around here. However, when they didn’t find anything, both of them rendezvous near the pedestrian lane as they sighed in dismay.
“I’m guessing you haven’t had any luck in your end, right, Reina?” The woman in her 20’s asked her companion.
“I’m afraid so,” Reina said as she frowned at their results. “Are you sure Cole’s Pokemon is trying to find his trainer?”
"Considering that he took after my son's reckless and protective nature on him, I'm can guess that should be the case. I just hope nothing bad happens to either of them."
"Yeah. To be honest, if I haven't told him about my family cafe's current situation with our younger customers, he wouldn't run off battling those bullies like that. I didn't want him to involve in our personal dilemma like that."
As she noticed her frown on her face, Ms. Tsukiyuro placed her hand on her shoulder and said, "Don't blame yourself about it. It's all in the past and besides, even if you convince him to back out, I doubt it isn't enough to dissuade him to get involved in it. Cole tends to help others in need and when he set his mind on this, there is no way for him to back out until the situation is resolved."
Reina's eyes widened when she heard this. "Really? Does this occur very often?"
"You can say that. Whether he's in a summer camp or school, he's always there to jump in and help others in need. Guess like that old saying always says, "Like father, like son"."
“Huh.” Reina then scratched her chin as she thought about what she learned about her young friend. “I never expect a semi-quiet kid like him is a bit hot-blooded when it comes to his altruistic actions."
"Yes. But that kind of personality sometimes worries me. I just hope he won't end up like his father..."
But before they could leave the area, they suddenly heard a faint croaking sound behind them. When they did, their eyes widened as they turned around and noticed the gate entrance of a Pokemon academy.
"Reina, did you hear that?" Ms. Tsukiyuro asked in a suspicious tone.
"Yeah. It's a bit low, but it sounds like a frog Pokemon's croaking. Do you think that's Cole's Froakie?"
"It has to be. Come on!"
Ms. Tsukiyuro and Reina ran inside the school ground to follow the source of the croaking sound. But as they did, they stopped and gasped at what they saw. Not only they saw Cole and some boys wearing a school uniform in the Pokemon battlefield, but they saw the Bubble Frog Pokemon himself screaming very loud before his whole body glowed blue. As everyone watched this strange event right in their eyes, Senuki's limbs and body began to grow longer, the ends of his fingers and feet became circular, and his head started to change its shape. Once the light disappeared in a burst of light, the Heracross who was pushing it away from them ended up being flung a few steps away from the Water-type as it revealed that the once small Froakie became a light blue humanoid frog.
As Cole opened his eyes, he gasped to see his transformed Pokemon right in front of his eyes.
"S-Senuki, is that you?"
He was still confused at all of this, yet he couldn't help but wonder if that was still his Froakie. Heck, this was a bit surprising for him as this was the first time he experienced this strange phenomenon right in front of his eyes. But as I took a step closer to him, the slightly tall frog Pokemon turned around and croaked as he showed the water-drop pendant that was worn around his neck.
"The Mystic Water... So that means you evolved!" Cole's worry turned into a huge smile as he ran up to his Pokemon and hugged him. "This is great! I can't believe you evolved just to protect me!"
His evolved Pokemon croaked as he accepted the hug, who seemed to be happy that his trainer still recognized him. As they continued this small tender moment, Cole took out his Pokedex and scanned him right in front of him.
Meanwhile, the women were still shocked at what they just witnessed.
"O-Oh my..." Ms. Tsukiyuro muttered as her eyes widened at the sight of this. "What in the world happened to young Senuki?"
"Well, I heard about this phenomenon from some visiting trainers, but I think he somehow evolved into a powerful form of himself."
"Evolved? You mean he's not the same cute Froakie that I knew before?!"
"I think so. But still, Senuki looks very cooler than ever."
"Oh..." Ms. Tsukiyuro then put her hand over her face and sighed at this. "I was starting to like his cute appearance for a bit."
Back with Cole and his newly evolved Frogadier, they just finished their hug as Cole placed his hands over Senuki's shoulders. "I guess this means we got a bit of training on adapting your new body and attacks once we're done here."
"I don't think so, Tsukiyuro!"
Cole's eyes widened as he and Senuki turned around to see Dewett and Rashan were glaring at the pair with their lackeys and Heracross by their side.
"We're not done here yet! Not only you hide another Pokemon from us, but it just used its evolution to beat up my Heracross!" Dewett spatted out in rage. "You're not only a dropout, but you're a no-good cheater!"
"Cheater?! Dewett, the battle between me and Rashan is over! Plus, you and your lackey were trying to attack me without any warning!" Cole scolded. "That's not a battle, that's an attempted assault on a defenseless or an unprepared trainer!"
"Shut it, trainer! We're the proud students of this prestigious academy and we make the rules here! Ready to teach this brat a lesson, Rashan?”
The spectacled boy adjusted his glasses and glared at the young trainer. “Always.”
The boys and Heracross began to march towards the 13-years-old trainer as Senuki quickly jumped in front of him and spread his arms out in an attempt to protect him. But as his mom about to step in, a green bipedal Pokemon suddenly dashed between Cole and the schoolboys just as a young man’s voice called out to both parties.
“That’s enough nonsense out of you two!”
Hearing this, the boys and their Pokemon turned around to see a brunette-haired man walking towards them with a menacing glare only targeted to Rashan and Dewett, which their anger slowly shifted into fear as they backed away from him. "I've seen what I want to see. Harassing other trainers is one thing, but attacking them is going too far. And yet, you call yourselves the proud students of this academy. What do you say for yourselves?!"
Rashan and Dewett tried to say anything to their friend, but upon noticing his glare, they quickly choked as they looked at each other in fear.
"B-But, Brad... This kid skipped his studies just to become a trainer," Rashan reasoned to his friend. "And he has no right to..."
"That's not the point! You've almost broken the law against attacking trainers using your Pokemon and once the teachers know about the mess you two had made, chances are that you will be given more than just a harsh punishment."
The antagonistic boys' eyes widen as Dewett then said, "B-But... If you do that, my parents will cut me out of my allowance! Please, it's the matter of my reputation as the best trainer in all Godai!"
However, the man named Brad just growled at Dewett as his green Pokemon joined by his side, who was also glaring towards him and Rashan.
"Do you think I cared about your achievements? And speaking of that "dropout" you've mentioned, I saw his strategies and skills in battle. He's got spunk and I feel that he's too studious enough to drop out of school."
Brad turned towards Cole next, which he became suspicious as his Frogadier continued to protect him.
"Cole Tsukiyuro, correct? You seemed to be an interesting kid. Most trainers and students wouldn't be able to survive against my friends' brutal strategies, and yet, you used unusual ones especially non-damaging attacks to beat both of them."
As he heard this, Cole became confused at what this student that he never met before just said to him.
"U-Um... Thanks, I think," he answered sheepishly. "But I didn't do anything spectacular. If it weren't for my Pokemon, I wouldn't be able to win those battles."
"Not everyone in my school can use Growl and Tail Whip just to defeat Rashan's Pokemon. So doing all of that proves that you might have the potential to beat this city's Gym Leader."
Cole's face became red as he scratched the back of his head.
"U-Uh... I wouldn't say that I'm all that good... I just started and I need to train up my Pokemon if I want to challenge the Sangproctor Gym."
As the conversation continued, both Rashan, Dewett, and even Ms. Tsukiyuro and Reina were surprised at how this young man approached the young trainer so easily. Not even Cole or Senuki couldn't comprehend how he complimented the former for his skills.
"I see. Well, how about I'll test your skills out then?"
"Huh? Wha-"
Before Cole could finish his question, Brad took out his Poke Ball from his pocket and aimed it towards him and his Frogadier. "If you still have the energy for today, how about you accept my Pokemon battle challenge in this same spot? Don't worry, there will be no catches this time and if you accept it, I'll call my friends off whether if you win or lose."
"WHAT?!" Rashan and Dewett along with their lackey screamed towards their sane friend.
"We're not just going to apologize to that lucky "dropout"!" Dewett added. "And yet, you're going to battle him with those conditions?!"
However, the brunette-haired boy just sighed and said, "He is not a dropout and there is no way his last battle was won by luck. If you have no more accusations, I suggest you apologize or else!"
Those last words caused all of the boys to cringed and when they turned to Cole, they frowned as they bowed their heads to him. "W-We're sorry and we will never bully you again."
Cole was completely shell-shocked at this. Despite his cold exterior, Brad managed to chastise his friends' actions and forced them to apologize for trying to antagonize him because of his trainer occupation. Yet, he was still a bit uncomfortable at their forced apology. But Rashan and Dewett's apology aside, he became a bit curious at what Brad just offered him.
"I would like to battle you, but most of my Pokemon are injured and they need to seek medical attention right away," he explained in a sheepish tone.
"Don't worry, there's a nearby Pokemon Center not far away from here and I'm willing to wait until they go back to their full health," Brad answered in a calm tone. "However, my only condition is that I want your newly evolved Frogadier to be part of the battle. No exceptions."
Cole's eyes widened at what he just heard. Sure, this was Senuki's first time meeting these kids, but he never expected a stranger to be interested in him after his evolution. "Since I have no qualms about his appearance right now, I guess I can let him in. But why do you want me to include him in the first place?"
Brad just smiled as he approached the Bubble Frog Pokemon, who was still cautious at this new person. "No reason. I just don't want to fight you with an uneven amount of Pokemon in your team. Besides, I feel that my Grovyle seems to be interested in fighting against your Frogadier."
Brad then let his green Pokemon approached Senuki, which he glared at the Water-type. While a bit intimidated at the new Pokemon's presence, Senuki just glared back at him in an attempt to threaten him to back off. As for Cole, he pulled out his Pokedex and scanned the green bipedal Pokemon.
"While he doesn't look like much, Krastio sometimes acts like my personal bodyguard. I think your Frogadier is the same as my Grovyle and I think he could be a good rival despite their type matchups," Brad added. "If he can conquer his Grass typing and his powerful attacks, then you might have what it takes to challenge the elite. So what do you say? Do you want to battle against me and Krastio?"
From what he heard so far, he could tell from Brad's description was confident at his Grovyle's skills. And despite this, he couldn't sense any signs of vanity in his voice when he said this. This made him wonder if he might be stronger as he looked. More importantly, he could see from Senuki's intense eyes that he also wanted to fight against this Wood Gecko Pokemon. He did win four trainer battles in a row lately and he might be an interesting trainer to battle with. Realizing this, Cole's frown slowly curled into a smile as he turned his eyes towards the brunette-haired boy.
"As long as it doesn't involve messing with Reina's family cafe, then I'll accept your challenge."
Hearing this, the hooded brunette-haired boy smiled and turned around as he joined with his friends. "The time of our battle is about an hour from now and it will be a no-item battle. Make sure you prepared everything once your team's healed, okay?"
"I will, I'll be expecting a great fight."
"Same here. You better prepare yourself as well, Froggie."
While he was annoyed by that nickname, Senuki croaked in a determined tone, which Brad's Grovyle slyly grinned in response to this. But as the boys left Cole and Senuki alone, they suddenly heard a female adult's voice behind him.
"Cole, Senuki! Are you two alright?!"
When they turned around, they gasped to see not only Cole's mother running towards them before she hugged both of them, but they also saw Reina in her civilian outfit consisted of a white blouse, pink shorts, and red high-tops joining by their side.
"U-Uh... Yeah... We're okay..." Cole answered sheepishly. "But more importantly, when did you guys meet each other?"
"Let's just say she made a small visit in my cafe once you and those schoolboys left," Reina explained. "But still, I never expect you not only have a cute Froakie but to see him evolve into a cool-looking Pokemon."
Senuki quickly croaked in confidence as he made a pose in response to her compliment, much to Cole's amusement.
"Yeah, sorry to hide Senuki from you, Reina. But in my defense, he was supposed to rest back home under my Mom's suggestion to take a rest after our travels. I didn't mean for him to just go out into the city alone like that."
Cole frowned after he said this as he looked at his Bubble Frog Pokemon. While he knew leaving him out of the past few battles might cause him to try and find him eventually, he just wanted him to rest after all of their non-stop training they had to go through during their trek through Cloven Plains. But as he was about to turn around, he felt something on his shoulder and saw Senuki croaked and nodded at him in response. He couldn't tell what he was trying to say, but he could guess that he wasn't mad for keeping all of this a secret from him.
But then, Cole's mother quickly clapped her hands to get their attention and said, "Okay, okay. I know you have got some explaining to do, young man. But shouldn't you try to follow that young man's advice right now?"
Hearing this, Cole's eyes widened as he pulled out his other Poke Balls from his pocket.
"You're right! I better get going now!"
But just as he could go there, his mother stopped him by grabbing his collar. "Hold on, young man. We're coming with you. Senuki isn't the only one who needs an explanation for your previous antics."
As he saw her serious expression on her face, all Cole could do was to flash a sheepish grin.
A few minutes have passed and as they arrived at the Pokemon Center, Cole walked towards the reception desk and gave the Poke Balls to the nurse.
"Okay, Mr. Tsukiyuro. It will take about 20-30 minutes for them to go back to their full health. Is that okay?" The male receptionist asked.
"Don't worry, I think I can wait on those times. My next scheduled battle is about an hour from now," Cole replied.
"Alright. I'll take your Pokemon then. I'll be right back."
Cole nodded yes before the receptionist took his Poke Balls in the back room. Once that was done, he walked back to his mother, Reina, and his Frogadier, which he told everyone what happened that caused his feud against the schoolboys.
"So you're saying that those Pokemon academy students not only caused trouble to any Pokemon trainers who came into Reina's cafe, but they provoked you to battle you on several occasions just to harass you and your friends, correct?" His mother asked her son.
"Yeah. I'm sorry about that, Mom. I didn't mean all of this to happen..." Cole apologized as he frowned. "I just want to give those je- I mean boys a lesson for messing with my friends a few months ago. Not to mention I just want to help Reina with her harassment problem back in her cafe."
His mother gave out a long sigh as she stroked her son's hair. "I know you're just trying to help and be just like your Dad, but you have to remember your limits on what you can do. You're not a superhero or the strongest, but altruistic Pokemon. There are times that you have to ask for help and ignore any provocation and harassment from others. Besides, I don't want to see you suffer the same fate as him during your Pokemon journey."
Hearing this, Cole frowned at that fragment of that horrible memory. "I know. But I can't just ignore a friend in need. Plus, I can't leave those jerks alone without teaching them that strength and bullying won't get them nowhere as students and future Pokemon trainers in general."
"But still, you have to control yourself and make sure you won't get into crazy situations that may risk your life. You're just lucky that the only "crimes" they did were bullying and harassment."
"Plus, that Brad kid did manage to set those kids back to their senses and scolded them for their actions. So I think that they might learn their lesson soon," Reina added.
"I hope so, but more importantly..." Cole turned around and faced to his Frogadier, which he frowned at the sight of his Pokemon.
"I'm also sorry for leaving you out of my personal dilemmas, Senuki," he apologized to his Pokemon. "I just don't want you to get involved over my stupid feud against those school bullies. I thought I was able to handle them with only Kiyou, Treo, and Reno in hand. But after that last battle, I guess there are times that I may need some extra help."
Upon hearing his whole apology, the Bubble Frog Pokemon stared at his trainer for a few seconds, and then, he smacked his back and when he noticed, he just gave him a small smile.
"So you forgive me after all of that?"
Senuki responded by offering his fist to him as he croaked to him.
"I guess that's a yes then." Cole smiled as he lightly placed his fist to Senuki's. "Alright, no more moping around over our stupid actions. We have to focus on our upcoming battle. We know how strong Brad's Grovyle looks, but we have no idea what his other Pokemon are. All we can do is expect the unexpected and prepare for the worst. Of course, I'm letting you join this time since that's also part of his request for the battle."
Hearing this, Senuki happily croaked as he raised his arm in the air.
"That's nice to hear, Cole. But should you rest for a while before the battle?" Cole's mother suggested. "You've battled for a while now and your Pokemon needed a few minutes to heal up until then."
"You're right. Come on, let's try to get us some drinks to energize ourselves."
His Frogadier croaked happily as they enjoyed themselves in the center for an hour.
“I’m guessing you haven’t had any luck in your end, right, Reina?” The woman in her 20’s asked her companion.
“I’m afraid so,” Reina said as she frowned at their results. “Are you sure Cole’s Pokemon is trying to find his trainer?”

"Grovyle, the Wood Gecko Pokemon and the evolved form of Treecko. The leaves growing out of Grovyle’s body are convenient for camouflaging it from enemies in the forest. This Pokémon is a master at climbing trees in jungles."
"While he doesn't look like much, Krastio sometimes acts like my personal bodyguard. I think your Frogadier is the same as my Grovyle and I think he could be a good rival despite their type matchups," Brad added.
----
A few minutes have passed and as they arrived at the Pokemon Center, Cole walked towards the reception desk and gave the Poke Balls to the nurse.
"Okay, Mr.
