Guide to Calta RP
Special Rules
Travel in Calta is limited to mundane means. Vehicles cannot be used at all in Calta, and locations skips (such as from skips or Fly) cannot be used until you obtain the Guide Lore. This is awarded upon completing a topic in Tonan Geal.
Once the Guide Lore has been obtained, the character gains a location skip for use in Calta. This skip does not work in Godai. When arriving in Calta, players must always RP the arrival in Port Baile.
Both village locations only have specialty stock in their Pokemart Shopping templates.
General Lore
Calta has been relatively untouched since the fall of the Luctaguican Empire. While several different countries have laid claim to it, its out of the way location and surrounding reefs have kept them from actually fielding a presence on the island. As such, most news from the outside world has come through old radios in Port Baile and word of mouth via sailors who trade with the Caltans.
The largest influx of technology, however, comes from the wreck of the Merigold, a freighter which crashed into the northern cliffs of Calta twenty years ago. The cargo aboard it was varied, with the Caltans showing extreme interest in batteries, electronics, lights, and Pokeballs. While other items were looted, like TRs, many of these are kept more for perceived value than practicality.
These small treasures aside, the Caltan way of life is heavily reliant on what can be made by hand. Ironsmiths still work in the two main villages, though the addition of Pokemon to their work has improved the quality of life for all. Clothes are hand woven as they have been for centuries, and that is unlikely to change any time soon.
Maps of the trails on Calta are rare. Natives rely on messages coded via colored wool cloth to inform travelers of closed passages or quicker routes. Learning this language, known as Guide Lore by the locals, requires dedicated teachers, the best of which can be found in Tonan Geal. While Caltans do share a language with Godaians, the use of it drastically different due to isolation.
Beyond the two main settlements are a variety of small clans, camps, and bandit troops spread across the island. Travel on Calta is never safe, and not all dangers are natural or Pokemon in origin.
