Summer filled the air, carrying with it the sweetest combination of scents. Flowers in full bloom, the sea from the north, and just a hint of an undertone of sulfur from the geysers intermingled into a surprisingly pleasant scent, making it the only indication that they were in the area. Most geysers laid on the outskirts of the town, towards the mountain formerly known as Mt. Sear. Shadows danced on the mountain, one of them belonging to a spearow who was carefully grooming itself in a tree. The crunching gravel belayed the approach of a vehicle, causing the spearow to spread out it’s feathers as it peeked out from under its wing to watch as it approached. A white limo lumbered along the road, making a small ruckus with the pinging of rocks hitting the undercarriage. The limo pulled off at a lookout vantage point off to the right side.
The door slammed with a bang, energetically announcing it’s open state. First emerged a young man who looked to be in his early twenties, a goofball expression on his face. Mousy hair that was straight for the most part and went a little long in the back with shaggy sides and low bangs hung low over his grey-blue eyes. His carefree mannerisms hinted at a very happy-go-lucky demeanor. His lean frame was adorned with baggy t-shirt and a pair of cargo shorts paired with sneakers from a popular sports brand. He stretched out in a lazy, languid manner, rolling his wrist in a slow, deliberate circle until it cracked. Only then did he step to the side so the next passenger could get out, moving over towards the railing as he gazed over at the view. He let out a low, astonished whistle before finally speaking, “Wow, Aurmouth City looks so small from here.”
The next young man chuckled, causing his sandy blonde curls to shake as he stepped out, stretching as he moved to the side. He was dressed in casual jeans, short steel-toed hiking boots, and a button down shirt with the first few buttons undone, revealing a glimpse of an under armour-style shirt underneath. He had the look of someone prioritizing fashion over function. He soon moved towards the other man, laughing lightly as he pushed the short cropped curls out of his sakura-green eyes, which sparkled in amusement as he teased, “You are so easily entertained Scott.”
“Bite me Alex.” Scott replied as he turned and leaned casually against the railing balancing slightly on one foot as he crosses one ankle over the other.
Alex looked unperturbed as he turned his head and called towards the limo, “Come on Charming… your public awaits you! Just tell your driver we’ll call when we need him but come on. We need to get going before someone spots that we were driven up instead of walking the whole way or it’s for naught.”
Charming stepped out of the limo, a bit more subdued than his companions. He wasn’t slow, however, just slightly more measured and far more graceful than any man had the right to be. He was dressed for the weather, wearing hiking boots, jeans, and a mid-weight fleece shirt that crinkled a little at the sides as he turned to firmly shut the door. He didn’t immediately address Alex, walking sedately around the back of the limo and speaking with the driver in a low tone. Once he was done, he patted the top of the car before walking around towards the others, the car quickly pulling out and heading towards Aurmouth City. With the car gone, the Teddiursa trailing behind him became visible.
“Hey Charming, have you really never been to see the geysers?” Alex asked, an expression of disbelief on his face.
“No Alex, I haven’t.” Charming answered in a drawl, sounding far more relaxed than his companions. You know you can just call me Chris or Christian, right?"
“Your fan club would have our heads if we didn’t use their Prince Charming’s title.” Scott replied, a goofy grin on his face at the thought.
“Yeah, Scott’s right.” Alex agreed a bit to readily, “Now are we here to see the geysers, or are we really here to pick up girls after a day of pampering at the latest festival? It’s not a party city destination for nothing.”
Charming grinned, examining the area before answering the question. “I don’t see any of them here now…” a moment’s pause before continuing., “It’s spring break. I thought it would be nice to see both the geysers and the festival, though I’m sure you two came strictly for the scantily-clad festival girls.” He shook his head., “To think I have such womanizers for friends...”
“Says the man with the fanclub.” Scott shot back.
“There are benefits to being Charming’s wing-man. Why do you think I’ve attached myself to him?” Alex grinned, shooting Charming the ‘you know I’m joking’ look.
A chagrined look upon Charming’s face at the joke only to be replaced with a smirk in return to Alex’s grin as the trio started walking, with Charming taking the lead at a sedate pace, “When we get to town, I’ve a shop I want to check out. We’re only a ten minute walk away from it.”
