Everlight District
Most people assume Everlight, home of night-life, miscellaneous entertainment and many other things, is a more recent development in Central. Even the older people don't assume that it goes back that far.
Originally called the Kairaku Shugi tribe, it has been around since before the Uniting of Godai. A tribe that settled in the area that is now North Central, the group originally was considered not even a part of Central. They were like hippies, refusing to acknowledge the authority of the Imperial Family.
Due to the knowledge they taught the Central Godians, and the good natured trading, they were considered harmless, and no one ever did anything about them. As time grew on, they began interbreeding with other Centralites, and slowly were absorbed into South Central. However, they had a great influence on the South Central culture. Always doing 'magic' tricks, teaching pokemon to perform, even dealing in what is now illegal drugs, they were the original 'Everlight District'.
However, in the century or so since they were officially no longer separate from South Central, things have changed dramatically. Into what is now South Central's well known 'Everlight District', so named for the fact that the lights literally never go out. And there's always something going on.
First and foremost is the RKCA, or the Red King Cinema Agency, so named for the 'Red King' movie they produced, about a mythical Red Gyarados, that was their rise to fame in the animation industry. They continue to perform and create award winning movies and adaptions from literature that stun Godai. RKCA is said to be the best that will ever be in the movie industry.
Next is the Grand Contest Hall, used for the once a year Grand Contest, where the best co-ordinators from around Godai come to compete. With a massive hall and gallery, and the judge's in a protected glass row that sits closer to the actual performance than ever before, it is considered the best hall made for contests yet. However, during the eleven months that it isn't in use for its official function, the hall is used instead for regular Pokemon Musicals, featuring the best of the Wigglytuff Live Musical Play Writer's works, and often being the make or break moments for careers in the art of musicals.
The hall itself was originally built to house the Champion and Elite Four battles, before the old Palace was relinquished and allowed to be used for that activity.
Elsewhere, there are musicians aplenty, street performers of all sorts. Entertainment ranging from the cheap sidewalks to the costly and luxury artists. There are nightclubs filled choc-full with people. More seedy entertainment as well, as there are always people looking to please.
Drugs, whatever else might suit your fancy for the illegal pleasures sides of things, it's available if you're careful and know who to talk to. However, the police crack mightily hard down on people found with them, so caution is advised.
All amongst this revelry until the early hours and beyond, there is still the bloodlines of the original wild-children, the Kairaku Shugi. And it is their masterpiece that actually attracts probably the most attention. Regular pokemon Circuses.
In the southern part of Everlight, there is an area called 'Pony Fair Boardwalk'. Down here, the circus tents are always set up, and there are usually multiple shows going on. Every time a troupe leave, they're replaced by another, as they all compete to attract customers in the most popular location for their work. It is here you see great acts of control and co-ordination between pokemon and trainer.
Flying on the tail of a Charizard through burning hoops, while the trainer never lets go, and the Charizard never burns the trainer. Weedle or Caterpie stringshotting a perfect outline of a person pressed up against wood while not hitting them with it. Even great acts, like a Scyther slicing an object 8 times before it hits the ground, or an Onix standing perfectly straight and balancing on the tip of its tail, are seen here. And there's always someone attempting to be the newest genius and create a new act.
Trainers of all kinds come to Everlight. And there is very few types that you don't find. The mixture of trainers that live here is remarkable.
