Southwind Seaport
Southwind, a rather simple name, but contrary to the hustle and bustle of other parts of Central, it is a fairly simple place. All of the complications and oddities end up over in the Everlight District just nextdoor, so the small, squat buildings are free from most entrepenaurs or wandering storytellers.
In here is found the markets of yesteryear, where there's no sale pitch, no exotic perfumes lined up to catch the eye of the passing ladies. No taxes just to hold a stall, other than the ability to put up a non-dangerous stand. Instead, you come here, and you can find anything of the simple necessities. Handcrafted, not brandnamed and massproduced. Each piece carved or crafted with love and care.
The residents are fairly welcoming, as despite their almost rustic living style, they are a part of Central and are used to the massively diverse range of visitors. In fact, a foreigner visiting the market is often a cause for interest, and maybe the chance to sell to someone who hasn't already got a handcrafted house, right down to the dinnerplates.
Fishing is, however, the main produce here. And despite whatever else North Central sells, there is no seafood that you can find that is fresher and better than those found in the Southwind Seaport Markets. And maybe, just maybe, if you're lucky, you can find a pearl on sale, waiting to catch the eye of a passing foreigner, who has enough money to make selling the thing worthwhile.
On the portside of town, you have more out of town sailors getting rowdy at the inns and pubs along the bank, before making their way to whatever hotel they booked rooms in to sleep off their drunken stupor. Over there are the simple fisherman, the ferryman who waits for someone who wants the convenience of water-travel. The trader, who uses the streams, and the full blown tradeships, built and manned by the Government on authorised trade trips outside of Godai.
Despite the rustic setting, the trainers here are many and varied. From the passing through to the fish addict. The boy visiting home after being out on and adventure to the culturist who seeks to indulge his pleasure of visiting the more unique places of Godai.
