Tiensee Town
Originally known as Boilspout, Tiensee is a town built with the sole purpose of attracting tourists from all around the region. The fact that it is necessary to pass through this town for people to make their way to Mt. Quemar doesn't hurt to draw in extra tourists either. The town is built upon a plethora of natural openings into the heated chambers of the earth, and due to the proximity of the inactive volcano as well as the ocean, a very peculiar event occurs quite often. The heated chambers beneath the city fill with ocean water every few hours, and with the combination of the heat produced by the volcano, the water transforms into steam, and once enough pressure builds, a magnificent plume of boiling water erupts from the ground! It is quite an enjoyable spectacle to observe, and is often very popular among families with smaller children, though people of all ages find themselves amazed by this natural occurrence. Of course, there would be no point to this natural wonder if humans couldn't make money off of it. Often times, people must pay admission to see the eruption of the geysers, and shows are held on a time schedule according to when the geysers will erupt, usually with some sort of announcer who spouts out facts and interacts with the crowd as best as possible.
There are plenty other things that tourists can do around the town besides watching the geysers. Spas and saunas are also very popular, and have been known to help relieve the stress and pain that most trainers have gathered throughout their journeys. The spas are more often than not located in different hotels, which offer very low prices to compete with the free lodging that all of the Pokemon Centers in town offer to trainers. For just a tiny bit of dians, instead of staying in one of the typical, bland Pokemon Centers, trainers can instead book rooms inside one of the various hotels, which usually offer packages that, along with the lodging, grants full spa services and amenities, including massages, pedicures/manicures, facials, etc. There are even different heated baths, specialized food, massages, and other sorts of pampering specifically for Pokemon so that they can be brought in to recuperate and relax as well, often producing an opportunity for trainers and their Pokemon to grow closer! After a day of relaxing and getting pampered, one can very easily travel down many of the long roads, where shops of all sorts have been set up by citizens. These shops sell everything from homemade jewelry, glassware made using the ashes that are produced by Mt. Quemar, or even different cuisines, the most popular being the different kebabs that each separate shop makes with different forms of meat and different seasonings. This is also a great place to find other trainers to train and battle against, or just to simply befriend if that is all someone is looking to do. The majority of these shops and hotels, including one of the Pokemon Centers that the town hosts, are located in the middle of the city, leaving the room towards the outskirts of the town to be left for residential living areas, as well as another Pokemon Center for those who do not want to venture into the busier part of the town. Most often, the owners of the different shops and spas in the middle of town stay in housing that is built above their store, however some families prefer the peace and quiet that the houses in the outskirts of town can provide.
The people around the town are almost always pleasant in demeanor. The shop owners don't want to scare away potential customers, especially when there are so many other shops to go to instead. The community is still very friendly with one another despite the large amount of competition, and most disputes are handled with minimum intervention from law officials. The people have also become infamous for holding celebrations for whatever reason they can find. Many of the old holidays from the ancient people are celebrated in this town, if not for anything more than producing a reason to party. The two biggest celebrations of the year fall in alignment of the equinox, and are referred to as Dias de Equilibrio. It was a custom of the original inhabitants of the area around Mt. Quemar, but the festival has since moved into Tiensee Town as well. These celebrations are most definitely the place to be for all sorts of inhabitants of Godai, producing one of the biggest festivals in the region. Plenty of live music, dancing, and rampant drinking have made these festivals transform into mostly just one giant party that the townspeople can use to exploit even more money from citizens. The more traditional folk who want to uphold the history of the festivals have migrated towards Mt. Quemar to hold their own celebration, which is more accurate to what the original festivals were like. Besides these two giant celebrations, it seems as if almost every weekend, there is some sort of group putting together their own celebration of something, which means any trainer who is looking to get themselves into no good can usually find some party to make their wish come true!
