Happy New Year, Dearest Readers,
This is the first issue of the Gazette of 201, and I’m sure many of you have been nursing that hangover from New Year’s Eve, this writer certainly had more than her fair share of fun.
For what last Autumn brought in a cultural shift of the present, this winter has brought in shifts for the past! Two archaeological sites have been discovered, one in the North and one in the East.
The northern site is not far from Djenganti Monastery. It’s too soon to say, but it appears to be an entrance to a sub-basement. Scouting with Sonar shows many huge chambers, but it is unknown how many, or how far they go into the earth. In an interview with Elder Momo Dimartino we spoke about the find, “I have lived here for many years,” He began, “And not in all this time have I or any one of the monks found any hint of this until now.” Perhaps there is more to this place and its history than previously thought. To their credit, it seems powerful pokemon, particularly ghost types, inhabit these chambers, making it very difficult for researchers to explore. The Nijuu have declared that anyone entering needs to be escorted by a state official after gaining clearance, of must possess at least one TIS Gym badge.
The Eastern site is equally mysterious, and located in Acralea Valley. Serendipitously, it keeps with a theme of the area, in that it is a Windmill. This isn’t used to generate electricity however, in fact it doesn’t even seem to have a grindstone either. It’s purpose is unclear, as, based on the deterioration, it could be anywhere from fifty years old, if entirely neglected, to over one hundred. During that time, we have no records of any settlement, as the harsh weather makes it difficult to grown grains that would be needed to make use of such a structure. Even stranger is that it was built inside a rocky alcove, far away from wind. And the part that sends chills down this reporter’s spine… it still somehow moves. Tests have been run with very sensitive equipment that could detect any movements of air, and there are none large enough to move this massive structure’s blades from where it is. Wild pokemon seem to avoid the area, so the Nijuu have not taken any action to guard the place, but respect should still be paid to important sites like this.
Moving on to weather, which, usually not covered in this article, should be indicative of how important it is to inform the public that there have been reports of incredibly intense blizzards at Mt. Quemar, and even in Tiensee. Typically these places warm up really quickly in the spring, but Winter won’t let these places out of its frozen claw. Local and National Meteorologists are keeping a close watch on the weather pattern to see if any predictions can be made. Trainers and others, please be safe and prepare accordingly, as we have no reported deaths, but many have been injured on the mountain since the snow began falling.
Similarly, there have been increased reports of Rockslides near Miner Memorial Caves and Sagan’s Den, these seem to be accompanied by very small seismic activity, we’re not sure if this is related to last Spring’s earthquake, but please be careful when traveling out west.
While the outskirts of the country have seen action, Central has been exciting too. Police have officially apprehended and arrested the first known members of the criminal organization known as Nexus. In response to this, the Nijuu have approved a new law making it illegal to be a part of this Nexus organization, or even to be found aiding them in any way. This will make it easier for the Police to arrest these criminals and bring them to justice. We do not have any more information on their numbers, or plans, but this reporter trusts the police to keep her and her family safe.
We do have information on interesting objects found at the crime scene, assumed to be a base of operations. Three objects, rectangular and about the size of a small paperback novel, composed of what appears to be colored clay were confiscated. Professor Leigh Marshall spearheaded the analysis and found interesting facts, “They are definitely candorous, in much the same way as Miracle Seeds, Mystic Waters, Candorous Charcoal, and so on.” He reported, “But they seem to work with humans as well, we are unsure of the degree, but tests run with aura generated solely by humans yielded small reactions from the plates. I’ve taken to calling them Plates due to their shape.” he continues, “They are definitely man-made, but they are not modern. The people who’ve made these are long dead, by hundreds of years. Given enough time and volunteers, I am certain we can unravel these artifacts.” This writer is very happy to know that these important objects are in the hands of trusted professors as opposed to the grimey hands of criminals.
In more positive news, the previously reported pokemon virus “Pokerus” seems to follow the same trends as human colds, and there are much fewer cases being reported. If your pokemon does contract it, do follow the advice from doctors to keep them hydrated and give them plenty of rest.
Finally, Representatives from nations in Mboki, Isda, Vivimi, Grathfreith, and Beliae are schedules to meet with Queen Erika and the Nijuu. The purpose of these meetings is still unknown, but it's speculated that the Queen might be leaving Godai for a period of time. Given the Nijuu's isolationist policies, this could mean that change is looming on the horizon!
Let’s look forward into the increasingly sunny skies and enjoy the light of optimism as the days get longer.

{OOC Notes}Hello Everyone~
Firstly, please remember the following: Remember to include a time skip, either in the course of your thread, or between this thread and you next. You need to get your character's timeline to February Second as painlessly as possible. For most of you this can be done by skipping around a week (7 Days) IC time, but others may need to skip more time.
Secondly, as it is implied above, Pokerus will be less commonly encountered in your rolls, but is still included.
And Finally, like referenced in This Thread This is only for the month of February, IC time. Once we get information on Generation VII, the rest of Spring will Commence in full force~
I hope you all enjoy!
