Godian Gazette - Autumn Edition!

Hello fair readers!
The last of the leaves are falling from the trees, and that means it’s once again time for this reporter to summarize the events of the past quarter of our country.
It’s largely been a quiet period, but, at least superficially we have some big changes. Our great Queen Erika, taking inspiration from a few City Governments, has personally gone around the region undoing her mother’s legacy. For those who didn’t take History in Secondary School, the departed Ellen Rubeo took it upon herself to “Repaint the Nation” and assign names to many locations arbitrarily. Queen Erika has chosen to go around the nation herself and talk to people to get their opinions on the names of their homes. In many cases, they’ve come to enjoy Rubeo’s decision and incorporated it into their culture. Others, however, are welcoming the cultural diversity that our Queen is bringing.

Lots of changes, but I’m sure no one will fault you for a slip of the tongue. Given enough time everything will smooth over.
Other news, Opal and Tachi have announced their retirement. It saddens our heart to see to see two powerful women who put so much work into their cities and the region, but unfortunately, their lives must go in different directions. Opal’s professional and social obligations have grown to be too much for her to juggle being a gym leader as well. Tachi has chosen to stretch her legs and move on beyond Godai to broaden her horizons. We’re now missing half our TIS Gym Leaders, and the state is working hard to find replacements, but the pressure is getting to them. Hopefully the people they find will be able to fill such big shoes.
And Finally, it may be nothing, but Pokemon Centers have begun conducting research into a new kind of pokemon flu virus. We’re all used to the usual sniffles that even pokemon get, but this is different. A trip to the pokemon center will not cure it, even with intense NRG therapy. There have only been a handful of cases, so the research into it is still incomplete. It does not appear to be fatal unless untreated. Symptoms are flu-like, fever, lethargy, vomiting, but furthermore it seems that once the pokemon get better, they are somehow slightly stronger than they were before. They are contagious for Seventy-Two Hours after first picking up the bug, and, thankfully, they only seem to be able to pass the sickness onto one pokemon. This means there will be no quarantine. However, trainers, if you notice any symptoms in your pokemon, take them to a pokemon center immediately and make sure they stay hydrated.
For now though, we’ll look forward into the cold breeze of Winter to see how these events will unfold. Until then, bundle up! Merry Delimas and Happy New Year!.

{OOC Notes}Hello~
So the biggest change was the names, thank you all for accepting this, and I do promise that the adjustment will come with time. Hopefully this will be the last time we do it, but who knows. Do try to be flexible~ Also, remember to include a time skip of at least One (1) Week inbetween your current thread and your next one, or at the end of your current thread. You For those of who you have not yet started a thread, this does not apply to you. For information on the possible current dates, check out This post in the Guide.
Next, remember that Pokerus is, like all facts about your encounters, up to you do decide what to do with it. Don't think that you have to have your pokemon become infected if you don't want to. We welcome suggestions if you find that something in this new system is uncomfortable or off putting. However, if those complaints are about the math, we will ask that you draft up a full an complete alternative that we will consider, if it is more simple than this. This, hopefully is a good balance between realism and game mechanics that is also simple and easy to understand.
And finally, we are very very sorry to have to take a step backward in regards to gym leaders. Trust us when we say that it was not an intentional decision. The original author of the profiles and charactersthrew a hissy fit sent us a strongly worded message asking us to take them down. The staff would like to inform you that we already have concepts for their replacements and have already began working on them. Please be patient and forgiving, as we do the best we can to roll with the punches.
Thank you,
Godai Staff
