Godian Gazette - Summer Edition!

Good day fair Godians!
It’s time once again for our quarterly news segment, putting into perspective the events of the last three months.
First, and foremost, the thing on everyone’s mind has been the many months of pokemon migrations across the region. The Great Introduction of new species into Godai’s ecosystem has upset many, and led to questions of whether or not the region’s habitats will still be able to function. Do not worry, research has shown that while some pokemon were forced to make new homes, they are still thriving and doing incredibly well. Particularly the Ursaring that used to call Skytouch forest their home, they’re now thriving along the Lumina river and its lightly forested areas. There are some good though, the new creatures, combined with efforts of breeders across the nation, have actually brought other native pokemon, like Snivy and Shroomish, back from near extinction. It is entirely possible that every family of pokemon has at least a stable breeding population now. Furthermore, there are plans to incorporate the new pokemon into the Safari Zone.
More news about Godai’s wilds, there aren’t many sources willing to share anything, but it is known that the State has recently bought land in South Godai’s jungle as well as North Godai’s mountainous forests. For what? Honestly I have no idea, might be something as mundane as preventing them from being bought by radical naturalists… or they could be building something. Who knows!? Time will tell.
The next large change switches focus from the wilds of Godai, to the domestic affairs. The City Council of Boilspout met recently and decided to change their city’s name. It’s not entirely sure why, maybe it seemed a little too obvious given that their their largest attractions are their hotsprings, or maybe it was the constant mistake of people calling them Boilsprout. Regardless, the new name for Godai’s Southernmost city is now Tiensee Town! But there’s more, many cities decided to add momentum to the whole name-changing idea, and re-established their images.
Stoutfist is now Sternhall
Herbalife is now Kotoba
Winterhart is now Melka Village
These have culminated in the state of Central distinguishing its districts by name.
North Central is now Union
East Central is now Dianette
South Central is now Kroy
And West Central is now Cadence.
I think, dear reader, you will find that these do have a very nice ring to them. And who knows if the other cities will remain steadfast in their names. A new haircut can do wonders for a person, let’s see if the cities will prosper from their new ‘do.
Up next is a tearful farewell to one of the most esteemed minds in Godai. Reeve Rosewater has decided that he is going to take him and his mind elsewhere in the world on an extended trip for new archaeological deposits. Hopefully he will take his time and enrich the world with his findings.
But you up-and-coming researchers shouldn’t get too excited, because GSUC has already filled his position with someone new. Sansarika Nirmana was chosen to fulfil the role of a TIS professor due to his doctoral thesis on the effects of lunar phases on pokemon, specifically those of the water type. He’s very insightful if not a little… odd, but that just means that he’ll fit in very well at the University.
With someone new coming in, I must unfortunately finish this update with some unfortunate news. It was discovered that Hanzo and Savyon, two Gym Leaders of all people, have been found partaking in many illegal activities and have been forced to retire immediately. It just goes to show that even if you think that someone is wholeheartedly loyal and good, they may harbor secrets.
The Hanzo Militaristic Arts Institute will remain open and has been succeeded by a new head-master named Ichati Roiyaru. Little is known about this secretive man. We do know that he has no intention of filling Hanzo’s role as a gym leader though.
Which leads to the final point, a good one. The TIS is looking for two new trainers to fill the role of Gym leaders for Grengrothe Town and Scurarte. We suspect that there will be many applications to please give the offices time to process the plethora of paperwork that will be flooding their desks.
Green leaves shall fade into the lovely autumn colors, and the world shall change with them.
