Lady Shizune Gardens

Should anyone ever want to relax in the wilds of nature, they don't even need to leave Central Godai at all. In the West portion of Central is the famous Lady Shizune Gardens. An early Empress of the Godian Empire, Lady Shizune Niwa, is the source of the name, and in fact was the very founder of the location, though in her day it was hardly the grand place it is now.

Back then, she merely had a few yards of natural earth, turned and worked by her alone as she grew the herbs and plants she knew and loved. Famous for her knowledge of herbalism, her small garden wasn't unknown at all, and in some cases, the people watched as they passed. She loved the garden, and the plants within, so much that before the end of her reign, just before her own death, she organised a group of excellent gardeners to keep the garden she had made. Not only that, but she set aside a small fund for them to purchase rare plants and unique foliage to expand the garden.

From back then to now is an amazing difference, as the small garden purchased the land around it, and eventually, the gardeners formed their own organisation, raising money to expand the garden and procure more and more plants unique to other areas of Godai and beyond. They even manage to fund the construction of a greenhouse for the plants with more delicate requirements, and an entire reservoir for aquatic plants.

Some say the Shizune Gardeners are more like a plant-loving cult than an organisation, but while little is known about how they're organised, they are a friendly and open group of people. Though, a lot of them are older, and there seems to be fewer and fewer young members each generation. Some wonder what will happen when they finally become too few to tend the massive gardens.

On a more current note, there are really three main areas to the gardens. The wilderlands, where trees and plants make it feel like walking along a path in a forest more than in a garden, and where every plant able to naturally take the environment is kept, the Niwa Reservoir, where the aquatic plants are kept, and where several families of Ducklett's and Swanna, and other aquatic pokemon, are also tended by the caretakers. And the Shira Greenhouse, where rarer, and more delicate, plants like the Cassian Herb, natural to the area around Herbalife, or the Zauberan Redwood. Or even the naturally extinct Alaya flower, which used to grow in what is now Rottshade Woods.

Trainers in the Lady Shizune Gardens are usually their for the relaxation that only isolation from human bustling can bring. Although a majority of the visitors aren't trainers at all. Be careful of the plants, though, as most of the Gardeners are trainers of their own right.
