Gothita Befriended at Level 5 {Personality}Hatched in Oraclair as the descendant of Gothita lines from Djenganti, Borat was given to Ram at a young age, where they became fast friends. Their personalities complement the other, with the Gothita's more cautious nature tempering Ram's reckless optimism, and Ram's eagerness to explore bringing the normally shy psychic pokemon out of his shell. After his trainer transitioned, the two's understanding deepened. Though not trained for combat, Ram would put himself in harm's way for his friend without a second thought- and Borat would do the same. Borat is rarely if ever kept in a Pokeball. During colder months, Ram likes to wrap him in gentle scarves and kerchiefs to preserve body heat. Borat is indifferent to the clothes themselves but likes the positive attention they bring. {Strategy}Borat is agile... For a Gothita. Though he likes to be active and move about, ultimately he falls behind compared to more physically built pokemon. He can definitely take a hit or two, though. His favorite strategy is using his psychic power to fling pebbles and rocks across the field. Surrounded by endless rock and a silence so thick it drowned out all noise, Ram could pretend he was at the end of the universe.
The karsts in the distance reached through the canyon like fingers, and he dimly wondered what it was they were trying to grab. The correct answer would obviously be ‘nothing’, as they were just geological formations formed by erosion and the passage of time alike- but something about the personification made it real.
The area he and Tyne were attempting to cross had pillars thicker than a car, and was connected from end to end by a series of massive suspension bridges. The metal gleamed blindingly beneath the noonday sun.
They were designed to hold several tons of weight, but his gut churned unpleasantly at the thought of crossing. In the distance, he could make out the gleam of Sangproctor- it was only a couple miles out, but something about the quiet made it seem like a mirage.
In theory, wild pokemon were abundant out here, but he hadn’t seen hide nor hair of any. Absentmindedly, his gaze turned to his traveling companion and childhood friend.
Tyne’s hair was pinned back with metal clips, and she donned a thick vest with enough pockets to carry however many knickknacks she needed. Satin was clinging wordlessly to her back- her actual travel bag was back in one of the lockers at the Pokemon Center. Her brows were furrowed in concentration at something he could only guess at.
There wasn’t anything special about the moment or about what they were doing, but the anxieties and doubts that followed him around like smoke were entirely absent. A pair of spectacled brown eyes met his own.
“Do you wanna go further out? I heard that the wild pokemon need a bit to get used to you before coming out, but we’re also pretty close to the city, so…” he reached downwards, running Borat’s empty pokeball beneath his index finger.
The psychic type looked up at him near vacantly from his spot beside his shins. “I’m fine with either,” he responded after a moment, savoring the silence for what it was. “But the farther we go out, the harder it will be to get back if something goes wrong. We’re still new trainers, after all.” Tyne nodded at his reasoning, scratching her nose and making the spider chitter as it had to readjust his position.
“There’s supposed to be a campsite at the other end. We could stay at the benches for a bit, maybe break out some food, and see what shows up from there?” she questioned. He nodded after a moment, scooping Borat up with minimal protest from his partner, and let her take the lead across the gorge.
The peace he had felt earlier had largely passed, but he was reluctant to voice it nonetheless. Ram wasn’t entirely sure why- maybe the problem was that if he talked about it out loud with Tyne, the moment wouldn’t be only his anymore.
A low wind at the bottom of the canyon whistled ominously in response to his turmoil, and to Ram’s credit, he was only a little nauseous when he felt the bridge move beneath his feet.
