Summer, 201 AG - 'A New Era' By Miya Silvers
Today is a day of great import to Godai’s history. Our Queen, Erica Barden addressed the assembled crowds outside the Queens Garden to announce the path our nation would be taking. Dressed in a gown of silk and crystal, the Queen dominated the stage as she was accompanied by a woman no older than her mid twenties. The statement below is accurately transcribed for the benefit of our readers.
“Godaians, we are, and always have been, a people of drive. We do not look beyond our walls, our borders, and rarely do we ever seek to do more than watch the actions of the outside world. Today, that comes to an end. Today, we welcome forth brothers and sisters from beyond our lands, to welcome them to our homes as we welcome each other. My friend here is Coleen Harrigan, and she has been an anchor to me during these times of strife, as I hope I am able to be for all of you.
I know bringing a stranger into our homes during the darkest of nights is not easy. There are those who would say it is not wise, but we of Godai have a tale warning against such hasty reactions.
‘In the Red Ages, there were many cast out of their homes. It is said that at one time there were more people living in the streets than there were in houses. During this time, a Lord sought wisdom on how best to lead the rebuilding of his province. He turned to his advisors, and found them only worried about the coins such a task would take. While it was true that the coffers had been badly drained by the wars, it was also true that the hearthless masses did not generate coin either.
So the Lord dressed himself as a beggar and walked until he found three manors still in good condition. Thinking these must be the homes of nobles who had managed to plan well and thrive during the wars, he concocted a plan to test these unwary subjects. Sneaking past the guards, he worked his way to the doors of the first manor. At the sound of his knocks, the Head Servant yelled for the guards, loudly declaring that the Lord did not wish to be bothered by such lowly men as a beggar.
At the second manor, the Head Servant fetched the noble, who took one look at the Lord in his disguise and sneered in disgust. Here too, the Lord was cast out of his subject’s home.
At the third Manor, however, the Lord was welcomed with a seat by the fire. When the noble saw him, he took his own coat off and offered it to the Lord. Seeing this was a man of kindness and prudence, the Lord cast off his disguise, and proclaimed that the third noble would forever be his right hand.’
We of Godai must take care to be like the third noble, and welcome our new brothers and sisters. As of today, I am announcing that Godai has annexed a new province. By my edict and backed by the Nijuu, now and forever, we welcome those of Calta to our home.
Calta is a small land, much smaller than our own. It has Pokemon that have never been seen upon our lands. The people are not as lucky as we have been, and they have fallen behind in many ways. This does not mean we are better than them, rather that we owe it to them as the bigger siblings to help them up.
This is a big task, demanding a lot of work. However, we are not going to be doing this for naught. We gain from the experience, culture, and Pokemon of Calta. The last of which should satisfy even the most reward-driven of Godaians.
I will now turn you to the Duchess of Calta, Adeline Jim. She will address any questions, and has taken time from her hectic schedule to be here.”

So as you can see, it seems that a new layer has been added to the list of current events. There are already calls for Trainers to head to Calta to help explore. As always, this is Miya Silvers. Stay safe out there, and keep your ears open.
